Job websites for high tech jobs

What are good website for finding high tech jobs in the US. I have been looking at monster, dice and hot jobs. I want to make sure I am not missing some.

craigslist.org is an EXCELLENT source.

I’ve landed twojobs off craigslist in the tech sector (august 05 and september 06), so I’ve got first-hand experience.

Where are you?

I am a medium techie (hardware and OS, minimal networking), and have been in the same job for ten years. But I work at a school which cranks out techies. More than half find jobs by word of mouth, talking to other techies. Internships are great just to make connections. Get involved with anything high tech in your expertise. We had several students get hired from leads they got doing volunteer work for charity. Some of the more connected volunteers let loose news of job openings before they were published. Having a resume on the desk of the right person at the right time has the employer thinking “I can save a ton of money by not advertising”. My school by law must publish job openings, but private industry does not in most cases. Just don’t rule out becoming a part of the good old boy network as an avenue. It works a lot of times. It is a dog eat dog world. I would not do anything dishonest like lie or trash a competitor, but if I can have my resume in the right place at the right time because I rubbed elbows with the guys who know so and so is about to retire, so be it.

I am in southern California.

I looked on Craigslist and there were a lot more EE jobs on there than I would have expected. Unfortunately most of them seemed to work through headhunters. My experience with headhunters is that they are worse than useless.

I’ve had a great experience with the headhunters, too. Again, the last two jobs I cite advertised on craigslist both led to headhunters, but the are a necessary evil in today’s tech environment (IMO).

Good luck, nonetheless.
