Long threads, as that one was, always get closed down eventually - pulling up long threads like that put a strain on the server. I wasn’t at all surprised at the timing.
Since the OP was directed at Uke Ike, and was resolved (the OP acknowledged she’d been a tad hypersensative and appologized), that fact alone made it fodder for a shut down.
the fact that there arose tangental issues the kept going and going in an Energizer Bunny hell, doesn’t mean that it should have been kept open.

december: I hope that was intended jokingly. Having slugged it out with mods in this forum on several occasions (although it’s been quite awhile now, fortunately), I’ve got to stick up for our mods and admins on this one: they don’t seem to treat attacks on themselves any differently than attacks on any other poster, when it comes to bannings, issuing warnings, and all that.
That isn’t to say they won’t get pissed at you if you attack them unfairly, and let you know it, just like anyone else would. But they’re really not prone to using their Moderator Super-Powers[sup]TM[/sup] as a means of getting even, and I respect them for that.
