John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmitt (aka what's your current earworm?)

Ditto.

Otherwise the Big Mama Thornton version of Hound Dog. I played it at a lecture on local Black History the other day (where the theme was basically “famous and distinguished Central Alabama black people who weren’t Rosa Parks”*) and it’s been lodged in there ever since.
*Nothing against Rosa Parks obviously, but she has her own museum here and is famous the world over while many other locals like Big Mama are amazingly forgotten.

Aw, man, I love Big Mama Thornton. But I can’t get Mr. Schmitt out of my head.

I have been singing/humming/thinking the theme to The Fall Guy for at least two weeks.

Probably 'cause I die for a living in the movies and tv.

I swear if I see Lee Majors on the street I am kicking his ass.

“Baby” by Justin Bieber. The worst part is that I only know the words / tune to the refrain : “Baby baby baby, baby baby baby.” That’s it. But it’s going through my brain constantly.

Joe.

I watched Hair this weekend.

The damn hair song! <sing it with me> “Ohhhhhh say can you see my eyes–if you can then my hair’s too short! Down to here, down to there…”

Sorry–the only way to get rid of an earworm is to give it to someone else.

Yes!!!

I was in Minneapolis this week, and saw the Mary Tyler Moore statue at Nicollet Mall and 6th.

You know where I’m going with this, right?

My Tall Silk Hat (sung to the tune of Funiculi, Funicula)

One day as I was riding in the subway
My tall silk hat
My tall silk hat

I laid it down upon the seat beside me
My tall silk hat
My tall silk hat

A big fat lady came and sat upon it
My tall silk hat ? it looked like that!

(louder) A big fat lady came and sat upon it
My tall silk hat ? it looked like that!

Christopher Columbus now whadaya think of that!
A big fat lady sat upon my hat
my hat she broke and thats no joke
my hat she broke and thats no joke!

Christopher Columbus
Now whadaya think of that ? Hat?

It popped into my head while singing with my 3 kids, now it won’t get out!

Ke$ha - We R Who We R

I heard the song exactly once, and it invaded my head immediately. It’s frustrating.

Thanks to the 80’s Cartoon Theme Song thread it’s now the Ducktales song.

Rockit by Herbie Hancock. Why this floated up into my consciousness after so long, I have no idea.

“Sponge Bob Square Pants, Sponge Bob Square Pants”

over and over and over

For like a week and a half Cee Lo Green was camped out in my head singing F__ You. Both the censored and uncensored versions.

Now, it seems Billy Joel has squeezed Cee Lo out. He’s singing *She’s Always a Woman *with a vengeance.

I hear ya, Billy. Enough already!

Fuck you for making this post.

:smack:

Joe

I’ve been watching dvd’s of In Plain Sight, & the theme is now my default background music. Kind of pleasant actually.

You are my sunshine.

Hopefully baby will soon learn to fall asleep to another song.

This may have been meant humorously, but you’re in Cafe Society – it isn’t appropriate. Pls. don’t do it again.

Thanks,

twickster, Cafe Society moderator

ugh! It’s the theme from Inspector Gadget! We have a new guy at work, and he’s ‘that guy’ that always has to have the latest and greatest gadgets. So much so that our VP call his Inspector Gadget.

Head Games - (Foreigner?)

It’s funny how often it’s not a whole song, just a phrase or two that repeats itself into your brain…mine lately is “If I Die Young” by The Band Perry:
"If I die young, bury me in satin doo dah something river…la la words of a love song sumpin or other…laa If I die young, bury me in satin
rinse
lather
repeat
