Congrats on the planned trip, FCM – I love Paris too (and like you can kinda, sorta get by on my HS French)
I wonder – are Quebec and France like the US and Britain? Two (sorta) countries separated by a common language…?

See, that’s one of the things that really freaked me out about driving in the Twin Cities… I’m creeping along, worried that I’m going to end up stuck in a snowdrift, I don’t dare stop, and there’s somebody trudging along in the ruts left by the other cars, and I have to drive off into the un-driven-on snow to get around him because he won’t get out of the way. Which means I start flailing and fishtailing and THEN he scrambles for the side of the road, and I’m stuck sideways in the middle of the block.
Yeah, nice guy but that “gentleman’s gentleman” arrangement he had goin’ with Uncle Bill always made me go :dubious:. Since I know you have no idea what I’m sayin’, this will explain it.
Yay for the trip MOOOOOOM! Sounds like it’ll be a ton o’ fun. Plus since you’ll be sixty, you can qualify for all those French geezer discounts! 
Back from my gourmet fine dinin’ experience with OYKW. I had a burger and fries, He had a ham 'n cheese omelette with grits and toast. We are quite the gourmands, we are!

Dunno. I’ve been known to exclaim a bit, but my brother gets way worked up. I point and laugh. 
Trip sounds marvelous, FCM. I’m extremely envious. I only spent about 3 days in Paris when I went, but LOVED it. (My French is somewhere between rudimentary and non-existent and I got on quite well.)
It was gorgeous out today. I went out to get something at the supermarket and then went back out just to go for a walk and take pictures. It was quite postcardy. Pics in the next MMP.
Off to get stuff done.

Ok, there are a lot of weird products advertised on teevee. Some, however, are just gross! I just saw a commercial for sump’n called “Tag Away” to remove “unwanted skin tags.” First off, does anyone ever have a “wanted skin tag?” Second just ewwwwww! :eek:
I’m more fascinated by the Wax Vac, and more grossed out by the gadget the scrapes the dead skin off feet.
I’m also amazed at the number of people who can’t seem to flip a pancake or peel a boiled egg.
Or hang up their clothes, or drain pasta without gettin’ third degree burns, why, tv world is just fraught with horrors! :eek:
And did the FlowBee look like a good idea to anybody?
Swampy I had to read the family affair wiki and remembered Anissa Jones’ bad end, I was a kid when it happened. Her wiki has a quote from the coroner " most severe overdose" he had ever seen, yoowch.
Midget I love Montreal in the summer, we were at Jazz Fest 2010 but no no keep me outta Canada in the winter. Be careful please

Over here in Montreal, a snowbird is the opposite: it means someone who lives in Canada in the summer, but goes south to Florida or other warm places for the winter.
Phooey, I say. If you’re too wimpy to stay here in Canada for the whole frozen winter, then don’t live here in the first place. 
You are right I incorrectly used snowbird, don’t worry I get to 40c in the summer we get to sweat in the shower :eek:
