Well, thanks I guess. Every year I go through this same thing : should I remind people and make it look like I’m begging for one or just trust people to remember. Every time I go for option #2 I’m invariably dissappointed. The only reason I got one last year is because I dropped a major hint. I really expected someone to remember this year. It wouldn’t have been so bad if anybody here at home had done anything but I really wasn’t kidding about the “no presents” thing. Nothing. Nada. Zip. Not even a birthday kiss. Maybe it’s the wrong way to think about it, but dammit, I do a lot for people and sometimes you just want a little something back.
Oh well, it’s over. It’s just going to sting a little bit more whenever I see a birthday thread opened up for someone else.

I’m sorry, Euty. I sent you a birthday card, and had planned on opening a thread yesterday morning as well… but I woke up late yesterday morning, and didn’t get back until relatively late last night. It’s no excuse, and I’m sorry.

I DO feel bad. You sent me an e-card on my birthday, Euty and I certainly wish I had returned the favor. I just don’t read the boards enough to know when it’s anyone’s birthday.
YES, you should remind people. When I hit 35, I decided that today is going to be my birthday, whether I like it or not, so why not be happy about it and tell everyone. Every year since then (I’m 41 now) I’ve told everyone I speak to that “Today’s my birthday!” . . . even if I’ve never seen or spoken to them before. You’d be surprised how much fun it is.

Ya know, the little reminder popped up on ICQ, and my brain said “Must send e-card” then brain did a data dump. Now I feel like a creep because I regard you as one of the kindest and most thoughtful people I’ve encountered here, and you deserve kindness and thoughtfulness in return. Then again, I didn’t send b-day greetings to any of my sibs either, so I guess that means I think of you as a member of my family!!
