Just Because I Can... Starting The MMP Early

Up, caffeinated, off to work.

Geez you’re right, Dotty - why for the love of Pete?! Especially that Subway sandwich broken down and molding the bread to look like bow tie pasta!

Up and caffeinating already this morning–fresh ground coffee at that, for a change. Heathen that I am (and sloth, I suspect), I’ve been using pre-ground coffee for quite some time and picked up some fresh beans yesterday afternoon.

Hugs for Taters, hope you can relax at least a bit this long weekend. And sorry it’s not a holiday weekend for you, Emmmmms.

I’m not fit yet … not enough caffeine maybe?! laughs I do see that I’ve apparently beaten Swampy in arising this morning; there’s probably a really good reason for that. :o Don’t go all TMI on us, though!

Enjoy the Saturday all.

No, I’m sorry. It’s entirely too early for you to be going to work! Come back home this minute and relax for the weekend!!!

We’re already having crazy traveling weekend. Yesterday morning GilaMonster and I traveled to TVLand and then back home with TVMan in the evening so he could help me install the new DSL modem. After that, TVMan and I stopped at Cracker Barrel for a yummy dinner and then came back to TVLand. And then on Monday we’ll be headed back home and then back to TVLand again on Tuesday. It’s no wonder that I’ve already driven 3000 miles in a month! Thank goodness I’m now driving a car that gets 32-34 mpg instead of one that gets 24 mpg.

Ok, TVMan has declared it breakfast time so it’s off to make the usual!

I got written up last night because I neglected to say two words to someone making a reservation two weeks ago and unfortunately these people turned out to be Entitlement Bitches. No lie, folks, two @@^$$^#$ words. I’m going to sit down with the GM on Monday and 'splain a few things to him, like the fact that I got essentially no training on the desk when I first started (during the busiest season) and it’s only been in the last two weeks that I’ve gotten all the fine details down. In addition to that, I found out I can’t have Wednesdays off for the rest of the school year because one of the other front desk people is taking a godforsaken stained glass class on those days and she requested them off first. I guess making colored pictures is more important than helping disadvantaged youths?

Jesus Mary and Joseph, is it already time to start looking for another job? I cannot take this corporate bullshit with a smile for much longer.

Fortunately it’s almost time for me to get my 'do done did. I’m finally going to have someone color my hair professionally!

Geeze, that sucks Spaz. Here’s a hug for you {{{{{ }}}}}.

Unfortunately Herbs, there won’t be any relaxing for me this weekend. Today we’re helping our daughter’s boyfriend move into the condo he bought, tomorrow we’re off to the horse races, and Monday I’ll be catching up work stuff because I brought my work laptop home.

I am not overly thrilled about going to the races on Sunday. I just wanted one day to do nothing, but it’s not going to happen. Besides, it’s supposed to rain.

Ooh! Coffee is done. I need to wake the hell up so I can unjam our garbage disposal. I came home to find that fubarred yesterday when I got home from work too.

{{{Spaz}}}

I am in the middle of writing my second MBA recommendation for someone that used to work for me in my old job and my grasp of the English language is failing me completely. They are for some prestigious schools and I am worried I am saying “This person is not worthy to attend your school - please do not allow them to enter your program” :frowning:

I was dozing off as I worked on a flyer for the chorus, and I drifted into a semi dream state where I heard someone say “I am trying to give birth to a different kind of confusion”.:eek::eek::eek:

I think a real nap is in order

yawns Did not get to sleep until oh-god-thirty last night… There was a party in my appartment. I dunno who but someone was singing death metal at high volume right outside my bedroom at 3:30am. I’m not too mad - it was a Friday night before a long weekend - but if it becomes a habit, the perpetrator is liable to end up breathing through a tube.

Anyway… I was supposed to go to a meeting of local Maryland furries at, uh… Some park. Somewhere. About 45 minutes from school. I was invited by two of my on-campus furry friends but I forgot about it and then massively overslept today anyway. Shame. So instead I’m lounging in bed, propped up against all my pillows, snuggled under the blankets, relaxing in boxers and pajama pants and watching the Science Channel while lurking online via my laptop.

My entire to-do list for today consists of “get food”. I love weekends.

Well, I slept in, tho not this late. I got up about 6:30, we went to breakfast, then Lowe’s, then built a little deck out back for the trash cans. **FCD **is taking daughter to get a couple of lab coats for her birthday present. I’ve got ribs in the slow cooker for supper - the house smells pork-a-licious! I still have no idea where my cake carrier got to. I hope I didn’t leave it somewhere… that would make me sad. :frowning:

Plans for this afternoon involve cleaning the garage and running to the convenience center. Oh yeah, we know how to spend a holiday weekend. We might go sailing tomorrow, if there’s wind. **FCD **intends to work on Monday and save that holiday for another time - like maybe the day after Thanksgiving? If it doesn’t rain on Monday, I’m going to be working in the yard.

So hugs and gropes and smoochies all around!

Wow, it’s been a while since I’ve had my hair done professionally. That cost a bit more than I expected. It was totally worth it, though. I was able to relax finally while I was in the chair. Almost fell asleep while the stylist was blow-drying my hair. Now I know why Irish Brother and Moody Friend go there. Yep, I’m getting my hair styling advice from gay men. They know, kids, they know.

Off to work in a few. We’ll see how the night goes.

And yes, there will be new haircut pics next week. I want a new Facebook profile pic anyway.

I am still here today, carry on.

Had a nice drinky poo with GT, la Esposa and a friend Thursday night. I can report she’s still looking great. Football game followed, then crappy day at work, then baseball game followed, then sleep. Then a massage. now another baseball game.

There, you’re all caught up.

Don’t fall for it, Moonie. If it’s Yiddish, it’s probably dirty…

Update: Food has been got. My to-do list for today has been completed. Now to think of something to do for the rest of the afternoon/evening.

That’s OK - so am I.

{{Spaz}} Been there, done that. That’s why I’d rather poke out my eyes with dull rusty spoons than ever go back to a call centre… too many no-talent, no-vision morons in management who wouldn’t know customer service if it came up and bit them in the ass.

So The Boy and I have finally picked up our tickets for the Toronto International Film Festival. Sadly, no George Clooney or Coen Brothers for me, as the box draw didn’t go our way.* However, we did manage to score tickets for a movie by a 101-yr old legendary Portuguese director, a Hong Kong action thriller about a team of assassins, a Thai movie about a loveless marriage rescued by a forest spirit, a Japanese epic involving samurais and pirates, a Spanish heist movie set in Barcelona, and a futuristic French/German/Belgian/Canadian co-production about the last mortal left on earth. It looks to be a good year.

And on that note, time to run off to see Grammy Dearest. It was her birthday yesterday, so me and the cousins are going to drop in and bring some dinner to celebrate. I often think she’s happier to see the pepperoni pizza than she is to see us.

  • The way the Toronto Film Festival handles advance orders is by having you fill out a form with the movies you want and (optionally) a backup movie for each of those. Your form goes into a box when you drop it off… once all the boxes are full, they draw a number for the starting box, and then go through the boxes in numeric order from there.
Our box was #33 of 56. The draw picked #48, which meant we ended up 3/4 down the line. Poop.

{{{Spaz}}} Glad you’re feeling better after the new hairdo, though.

I am half past starving!!! I’m not sure what we’re doing for dinner, though. I spent most of the day down on the kitchen floor scrubbing and then I started on the bathroom. I got the toilet, sink, and HUGE shower finished and then gave up and took a shower while I was in there. Now I’m all squeaky clean.

Howdy Y’all! It’s the weekstart!!! YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!

I didn’t post this mornin’ cause, well, I don’t know why. So There! :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m waitin’ on dindin to arrive. Pizza Hut is makin’ it. I ain’t payin’ so I ain’t complainin’.

Spaz you got written up for not sayin’ “Bite Me”?

Moonie go to the mall, walk up to strangers with lots of packages and offer to help tote 'em. The packages that is. Or, offer to tote the strangers. Either way, it’s good for lots of entertainment.

Dindin has arrived.

Later Y’all!

Fed. Exhausted. About to assume the knitting position - after I load the dishwasher, that is. The kids are out scouting the back yard looking for a place to make a fire pit. I’m sure the weird neighbor in the back is going to *love *that. heh It’ll be a good way to get rid of all the pine that’s fallen, tho. We can’t burn it in the fireplaces, but outside, who cares?? So win-win!

B-day cake later - we’re all too stuffded. **FCD **is done scraping the dishes - time to load 'em and wash 'em.

When the morbidly obese clean the floor…

It isn’t pretty and it also hurts! I’m not very adept at crawling around on my knees so I just scooted around on my rear end (which made an awesome buffer  ) and apparently my left thigh. It feels like somebody punched it about 20,000 times.:dubious: Oh well, at least the floor is beautiful and I only had to clean about half of it.

It’s a black and white checkerboard pattern. :D;)

We had Wendy’s for dinner. I’m in love with their Twisted Chocolate Frosty with Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough. Yum!!

I am here and more tired than your average bear. I had to go in this morning at 0600 and do RN stuff. I swear management types wouldn’t know a fiscally sound policy if it bit them in the ass. They called me in for ONE pt, who was destined to be admitted after surgery as an inpt. So, you have to call in the whole surgical team (including a recovery room RN who has to you know, recover the pt): 90% of the OR team are RNs, as is the rec room nurse. So, why do you need me? ANY nurse can admit a pt, draw labs and start the IV. ANY RN can witness a surgical consent.
yeah, yeah, yeah–it’s money and we need money. I get that part, I really do. But I am tireder than shit right now and could have used the sleep more. Plus, it would appear that I am working 2 jobs so that TH can loaf* (although he calls it “being on the clock”–really? Whose clock and where’s the paycheck?).

I swear I want to show him the door, but the ultimate irony is that I would end up paying support for HIM. And that is so not happening.
I feel better. Don’t feel like you have to respond–I just can’t put this on FB because my kids read it. I was almost homicidal when I got home today and found the house empty and those dirty dishes-2 days worth- still there. And the vacuuming not done, nor the dusting, nor the laundry, nor–you get the picture. I’m not saying he has to do everything, but dayum–why not? I did when I worked “only” 2 days/week. I full of   right now. Sorry to dump (again). <need rueful smiley>

*Dirty dishes in the sink for 2 days after we had talked about his needing to contribute more to upkeep seeing as how, oh, I don’t know–HE’S HOME 24/7 NOW AND I’M NOT.
