Just Because I Can... Starting The MMP Early

I guess I’ve sorta won in the slave vs. sloth derby. VWife has Teh Sick again, and is in no shape to crack da whip. My desire to finish the bathroom came from left field for her, so while I’ma slavin’, I’m not slaving to her list. I consider that a win on my part.

Still, today, I had:

-an ambulance shift;
-fire truck inspections;
-a nap;
-defilthified the kitchen;
-painted all the woodwork I need to finish the bathroom;
-and did 2 loads of laundry.

So long as I do those on my terms, I’m ahead.

Screw her, I’m also gonna fish in the morning before the rain hits. :smiley: Then I have to put up the woodwork I painted today. :mad:

I et too much

C wanted to go to RL because of their all-you-can-eat-shrimp - and he did. He thought he’d stop at the eighth plate, but because B & P ordered dessert, C had two more helpings of shrimp. And the guy is skinny! He must have hollow legs.

A busy and productive day post meltdown. TH and I cleaned up the DR–he moved his stuff into the computer room (we have 2 desks, one with my laptop and one with a PC on it. He agreed to get/use ear buds for the soft rock from some Canadian station he loves to listen to. I will do the same for when I watch Star Trek online). Then I dusted the DR and he vacuumed it. I ran to the store only to run to the store again when I realized I needed potting soil for the house plant I bought for my office (a fern, if you care). I make pork loin roast and N.O.T. my special way: I slice them thin, brush them with olive oil and then sprinkle garlic salt on them liberally and bake for 40 minutes. Yummers! Oh, and I cleaned the master bath and put my laundry away and was nice to Mr Police Officer Man so he gave me a warning… (coming home from the store, my mind was on what to cook for dinner and I completely blew through a stop sign). :eek:
I just finished getting together all the stuff I need to take downtown tomorrow (#1 and #2 sons are coming down with TH to see my office, I am going to work and they are going to have lunch at the Lincoln Park Zoo. I am having lunch with our own gardentraveler!)

And many thanks for the hugs and thoughts from all. Backatcha!

More hugs, rigsy.

We went to the horse races today, and while all in all I had a good time, I was glad to leave. The weather was pretty sucky, rain, hail, thunder, lightning, you name it.

We won a little, lost a little, won a little. One of our friends came close to winning three grand, but a horse came from behind to blow past the favorite who was leading all the way through the race.

I didn’t win big, I but I didn’t lose big either.

I’ve got a roast in the oven. I’d much rather just skip dinner, but we need some food in our tummies. All we’ve had today were some garlic fries at the race track, two beers a piece, and coffee spiked with a shot of Bailey’s and a shot of Kahlua. Hey, we were cold and the coffee warmed us up.

Actually, I’m very tired and could just lie down and go to sleep right now. Unfortunately, since we spent about 100 bucks altogether at the track, we didn’t feel we should splurge on take out and I had to come home and cook.

It’s Monday, it’s morning and I’m at work.

I went to the surgery this morning to get some blood drawn, the nurse said they will have the results by Wednesday but I don’t have to do anything, the doc will call me if there’s anything amiss on there. After 12hrs with nothing but water, I was very glad of my first cup of tea!

Busy week for me, I have lots of bits and pieces to do for next month’s teaching sessions and I need to get myself sorted out with all of that, plus I am off to New York next Thursday so I really should start thinking about what we’re going to do with ourselves while we’re there. Luckily 'im indoors has no particular ideas for anything so it’s up to me to decide how we spend our time. Shopping, anyone?

How long will you be in my neck of the woods?

I didn’t realise it was your neck of the woods, rosie! We’re arriving on 17th Sept and leaving again on the afternoon of the 22nd so it’s really just a long weekend.

OK, is **doggio **being a slacker? Do we need to start the new MMP for him??

Oh, and that’s Rosh HaShana weekend - tant pis. But yeah - Lawn Guylindt, or Long Island as it is more commonly known, is right there.

Maybe he forgot - or maybe he’s still asleep. In any event - isn’t this a snooze/lose sitch? I say go for it, moooom

He’s usually up and posting by now - perhaps the doggies have decided he should have a lie-in today?

It’s up!

that’s a bad link - try this one
