Just got back from the Used CD store. Woo Hoo!

I just went to the used CD store yesterday and got the following:

Boston Greatest Hits
Billy Joel Greatest Hits
Eric Clapton Blues double disc
Phish a live import
Muddy Waters live cd, don’t know name
Jimi Hendrix Band of Gypsys (the copy I already had skipped horribly)

I bought the Billy Joel CD cause I want to learn how to play “Only the Good Die Young” and “Piano Man” on guitar.

Trying is the first step to failure

Latest CD purchases:

Asleep At The Wheel – Tribute to Bob Wills
Joni Mitchell – Both Sides Now

Ordered at CDNow, won’t ship till tomorrow when the Mitchell CD is released.

Still enjoying these recent acquisitions:

Charlotte Church – Charlotte Church
Preservation Hall Jazz Band – Marching Down Bourbon Street
Bob Frisell – Ghost Town

A number of people have recommended that Steely Dan CD. I may have to break down and purchase it.

The most important music news in this area, however, has to be that tickets to Leo Kottke’s four shows in the Puget Sound area are now on sale. He’s da man!

I haven’t gotten much lately.

The last two CDs I got were SRV’s Greatest Hits volumes 1 and 2.

You say “cheesy” like that’s a BAD thing.

I found a pretty cool (if you like that sort of thing) cover of “How Soon Is Now” by the Meatmen. hehe

There are no dangerous weapons,
Only dangerous men.

Just got a package from Second Spin (greatest used CD store on the net, address is just what you think it is):

A CD single from Belly
The Clash’s Sandinista! (God, I’d forgotten what a great record that is!)
Tonight the Stars Revolt!!! by Powerman 5000 (gotta keep up with some new music…)
and Black Diamond by Stan Ridgway

I also just got a bunch of CDs from Columbia House, but they’re mostly classical, and so not quite on topic (though the disc of Cecilia Bartoli/Bryn Terfel duets is wonderful).

…but when you get blue, and you’ve lost all your dreams, there’s nothing like a campfire and a can of beans!
