Justified, Season Five starts tonight!

I just re watched that part because I knew the word “post” was in there some where.

“God no. The technology to reply to a post is decades away.”

That smarmy IT guy needs to get his ass kicked. Actually both of the the computer guys need to get their asses kicked. And I’m saying this as an IT guy!

Why did the Crowes suddenly open fire on everybody? What possible benefit is that to them? Some of the plot twists are dangerously close to jumping the shark, IMO. Boyd is so all-seeing that he can anticipate every single thing that is going to happen? Since he wasn’t expecting to see Johnny at the cartel house, why have his gunmen waiting (locked up, no less) in a truck he might not ever see?

He knew via Hotrod’s phone hint that Johnny was moving in on the Mexican deal. So he presumably tipped Mr. Yun and when they stop in the desert he explicitly states that Mr. Yun arranged everything. He and Mr. Yun just played the charade to get Johnny’s pay-off - apparently reliable business man Yun never had any intention of reneging on their deal.

Now why the Crows decided to open fire I have no idea, but I assume it is part of some ploy to have them move the truck themselves ( since the other drivers are now dead ) and try and steal the heroin shipment. We’ll see.

You’re devious enough to be a writer for this show.

Didn’t Daryl seem surprised that Danny* started shooting?

Is it Danny? Or was Danny the one that the trigger-happy Crowe shot? I can’t keep my Crowes straight. Doesn’t help that their names start with D.

Aside from the “reply to a post technology is decades away” line my other favorite was:

“Ever heard of Falafel?”
“Never cared much for it. Always found it like a cut-rate hush puppy.”

Lines like that are why I freakin’ love this show.

I also thought Darryl gave Danny a nod to open fire - it will be interesting to see how that plays out.

I thought the dumber Crowe brother (Danny) just decided he wanted to do some killing because the reaction from the smart one (Daryl) was “oh shit, what has that psycho done now?” Danny enjoyed killing Dilly, his own brother when Daryl was disgusted it had to be done. And Wendy (Alicia Witt) doesn’t yet know and is surprised when Raylan tells her. Daryl still hasn’t figured out that Danny killed the Haitian and is threatening Kendall. He’s the smart brother, but he isn’t Boyd or Raylan smart. Wendy is the smart Crowe. But her undoing is going to be that her brothers don’t tell her shit.

Daryl gave him the nod to open fire, and then feigned shock and outrage.

I guess. Still seems a bit fuzzy. But then this show’s writing sets so high a bar that any little thing stands out.

I didn’t see that nod -

Neither did I, so I went back and watched it again. It’s slight; but both my wife and I thought it was there. Maybe not so much of a nod as look of recognition that said to me “OK it’s time.”

Well, yeah - but if you’re going to do that - go ahead and kill the Crowders too - its not like they needed them anymore (at that point) AND they had the drop.

When I first watched the episode I thought I saw the nod, then when he started his “Why’d you do that?!” act I thought it was odd so rewound to see if I’d just imagined the nod. It’s subtle, but clearly there.

You’re right–the writers are going to have to explain that one.

I don’t know Daryl gave the nod, but if he did, there’s reason enough not to kill Boyd. Boyd has the connections, both in Mexico and in Kentucky. His name means something. Daryl knows no one in Kentucky or Tennessee and doesn’t know the business. Not yet.

With the pile of bodies, Boyd now needs Daryl more than before. He needs the muscle. Once Boyd depends more on Daryl and Daryl meets the contacts, then Daryl will try to kill Boyd.

(bolding mine) - I laughed at that phrasing -

In any event, while Daryl may or may not have the contacts in Ky - he definitely does in Florida. Otherwise - what you stated is very likely how it will go.

Another double cross…no surprise there:D

Sepinwall thought it was a flat, boring episode. I disagree. It’s the first one this season where I didn’t get confused. I even figured out that the drugs were in the car instead of the van.

Sepinwall was right that this episode was lacking in humor, but that’s okay. Things are setting up nicely for the rest of the season.

I like Kendall. Too bad his character can’t cross over to Walking Dead. Kid has some sense.

I started watching last season… did we know who Jack was before he showed up last night?

I enjoyed the episode. It will be interesting to see what Boyd does with just his wits to get over on Daryl. Is the fact that the bodies are still in Mexico going to get back to Yuen, or are the cops just going to quietly bury them?

Color me surprised that Raylan actually did the Caller Number Seven trick, and color me even more surprised he convinced himself he was actually going to go to Florida.

Nope. We didn’t know any of the Crowes except Dewey until this season.
