K9, Sarah-Jane Smith and Giles is/will be back on Doctor Who.

Elisabeth Sladen will be appearing in the next Season of Doctor Who in the classic role of Sarah-Jane, and so will John Leeson, also reprising his role as the voice of K9, the Doctor’s robotic dog. I suppose I lied about Giles being on the show, but the truth is Anthony Stewart Head, the man who played Giles on Buffy, will be appearing, but it didn’t feel right to put his name next to all those fictional characters in the name of this thread. Linky.

Huzzah!

Good news, but what I’d really like to see is Tom Baker as the Master

Canon schmanon, is there a series with a more convoluted backstory that Doctor Who? I’m sure someone could write a script where the Master is the Doctor’s final regeneration…

Really? I can’t think of a single event in the series I can’t explain away, were as they are many superheroes who should not exist, due to the fact their timelines and or universe was erased.

Anyway, back on topic, I feel like throwing in a few dozen smilies.

Well, my husband will be thrilled to hear this - I’ll send him this thread. He keeps trying to get me interested in Doctor Who, but I’ve told him that when he takes my Farscape addiction seriously, realizes it’s a fantastic show, and cries at the John-clone’s death, I’ll watch every episode of Doctor Who that he owns. So in other words, tenth of never.

In the meantime, we’re both thoroughly enjoying the heck out of Anthony Stewart Head’s Prime Minister and Tom Baker’s narration on Little Britain. The Doctor Who fan in him has seriously been thrilled by Tom Baker’s extremely hysterical narrations.

It is really nice to get replies like this. Thank you.

Oh, and btw, it looks like the press release has been updated to show a picture of K9, and now has more info. Here it is.

Oh, and I am listening to a new radio adventure of the 8th Doctor, which is being broadcast on BBC 7, at “half 6 & half midnight” You can find some really nice trailers here along with a link to the internet site which streams it over the internet. I am listening to it at this very moment.

Well, it did confuse me. Why not just say, “Tony Head on Dr. Who!”

there is a dr. who sci-fi sea cruise

http://members.aol.com/scificruise/

the past few years it has been all about dr. who, complete with cast members, but before that it was a general sci-fi cruise with cast members from all different shows

Ah, much goodness!

Sorry, I am only a casual Buffy fan. I didn’t know what name his fans called him.

Oh, I was teasing. Half the fans think his last name is Stewart-Head, & the other half only know him as Rupert “Ripper” Giles.

No, what bugged me was… there is no “Giles” character in DR. WHO.
