Kanye storms stage at Grammys, upset that Beck beat Beyonce for Album of the Year

I suspect we’re probably not going to agree on what “good” is. The Beatles would be my example #1 for one of the greatest bands that ever lived and greatest popularity. Prince. Michael Jackson. Queen. Outkast. Kanye. Obviously, we disagree on the last one, but those would be, off the top of my head, artists that are/were immensely popular and, IMHO, wrote not just good, but great music.

I don’t see “bent out of shape” so much as laughing off the idea that the Single Ladies video is anything unique or exceptional.

Yawn, exactly. West and Beyonce are too fucking lazy to be creative on their own, so they “borrow” and “sample” they don’t create. Somebody was clever at ripping off the Netflix idea of releasing every episode or in this case every song at once when they released all of her album . Big fucking deal. There’s always someone who actually took a risk and did it first and did it better than these two.

Led Zeppelin ripped off nearly every blues song they came across…and they were the greatest ever!

No, he’s a huge bit Piece of Shit.

Had I been receiving the award, I’d have had some of my bodyguards give him such a beatdown that Taylor Swift would write a song about it.

So? Here is the music video by Taylor Swift that won the award that year. It’s a stunningly original tale about the ugly girl who turns into a princess and gets the guy. It’s a mind-blowing, utterly unique, original concept.

Again, not saying that the Taylor Swift video was all that great. I even said above that the Beyoncé video may have been the best one that year. I have no problem with using Fosse-esque choreography-I love Fosse. All I am saying is that it is far from the best video ever. If Kanye had given an interview where he said that he thought that Beyoncé’s video was better than Swift’s and questioned why Beyoncé won the best overall video that year but not the best female video, I might have agreed with him. However he lost me entirely by saying it was one of the best videos ever.

Also, I don’t see anywhere that I failed to give Beyoncé her props. Personally, I think she is talented, as is Kanye. They may even be artists. That doesn’t stop Kanye from being a jerk.

Even more interesting… if y’all don’t like rap, it looks like Kanye’s next album won’t have much on it with “Only One” and “Four Five Seconds” and now “Wolves” not having any rap on it:

(at this point sounds like a cross between “808s and Heartbreak” and “Yeezus”)

It really surprised me that Single Ladies became so popular. It’s so bad and the video somehow made Beyonce’ look bizarre. But people really seem to like it.
I never watched the whole thing. Does Weird Al show up mid way through? That’s the only way it would make sense to me.

So therefore people aren’t especially impressed by it.

That’s nice but complaining about Swift’s video doesn’t make Beyoncé’s video any better. It’s entirely possible that neither “should” have won but, once again, the fact that Taylor Swift’s video won doesn’t mean that anyone is “bent out of shape” about Beyoncé’s video aside from saying that it’s nothing special or impressive.

To be fair to Taylor at least she writes her own shit. Beyonce just shits where she eats.

If it’s anything like that piece of dung he sang on Sunday night it will be a “classic”

Read the article I cited. It’s when inspiration becomes imitation by lazy people who have the resources to be original but they can’t be bothered.

Nope, nobody getting bent out of shape.

I was never addressing you anyway, Jophiel.

Nope nobody here. Except you might want to talk with Ledisi, the great gospel singer who didn’t get a chance to sing HER Grammy nominated song instead of Beyonce, who was nominated in the same fucking catagory but sung the Selma hymn.

George Bush doesn’t care about black people

FWIW I was only dropping in to make zombie jokes and I’m acting out in disappointment.

Dana Carvey has fun with Kanye’s musical genius
