I personally like Kathy Griffin and found this full page ad in the Hollywood Reporter to be quite funny.
Studios and agents put “for your consideration” ads in the trade magazines all the time - for Oscars and Emmys - trying to get attention so they will be nominated or win an award. Kathy just took it a step further…
I think this is perfectly in keeping with Kathy’s schtick. And while I’d be very upset to see her nominated for her L&O:SVU guest spot (because that was a dreadful episode and her character sucked, though she was good) I love her methods of garnering attention.
Really? I thought that was the best new episode of SVU I’ve seen in years.
I don’t like her a bit, but that’s pretty funny.
My first thought was “That’s airbrushed/photoshopped from here to hell” and then my second was to laugh when she says so right at the bottom of the ad.
What’s really sad is that I’ve become so used to it that I thought "How did she make herself look more attractive? Fortunately, that lasted maybe 2 seconds before I saw the word airbrushed and my mind sat up straight.
