Thank you, BigT, for getting it. Lesson learned from this thread: Never open up on this board. Inevitably, some asshole will come along and make things worse, by claiming to be “helping.”
I had a nice talk with someone about this last night, and she had a very different take on it. She was able to actually help and facilitate me moving forward without being a prick.
As another person who made a “mean” comment . . .has anyone heard of tough love? You don’t have to coddle someone to help them out. The reason I posted like I did and as bluntly as I did is that tdn kind of has a history doing things like this. Maybe it would be useful if he got a harsher third person perspective.
However, I see that he’s just labeled us all haters and decided to consult with Madame Cleo or whatever. Cool.
While I appreciate your offer of help, that’s not why I started the thread. If I had been seeking advice, I would have asked for it. Maybe next time you could ask first before offering “tough love”?
And the Madame Cleo comment was entirely unnecessary.

For teh hugzzzz, of course.
For one, because I just needed to tell someone and the people that I normally talk to about these things were unavailable. For another, I thought that the irony was kind of interesting.
Not every thread in the Dope needs to be open to intense scrutiny and attack. Or maybe they do, in which case it was my mistake in posting at all.
Lotsa hostility and name-calling here in many directions.
I’m going to go ahead and close this. If y’all still have personal attacks you need to launch on each other, you can do it in the Pit.
