For those who didn’t see the start of the series, this show is unlike anything else. Possibly the closest would be Battlestar Galactica, but with more blatant magic and symbolism, no sci fi, and better acting. But in general better. There won’t be a second season of this show, so hopefully the first one wraps itself up with a full storyline.
I would never have expected a story from the Bible to be an awesome show, but there it is. If you didn’t watch it, you should go to Hulu and catch up.
I’m not sure what time or what channel, since I do Hulu/iTunes, but hopefully someone will be along to let us know.
I had high hopes for this show. I’ll watch Ian McShane in anything. Unfortunately, something just didn’t click. Maybe with more time it would have. I think maybe the David character wasn’t compelling enough to keep me interested.
I really love the show. It’s a shame that it’s ending. I hear though that the major dangling plot lines will get wrapped up. I think it was originally conceived with each season being somewhat compartmentalized anyway. At this point Jack is still scheming a bit against David - I wonder if he will eventually bond with him like in the Bible story. I missed the last episode though - did they explain why Macauley originally got banished?
That was cool.
However, if I were the Prince, when they were shot at crossing the border;
“Hold! It is the Prince!”
I would add, “Pile your weapons before me. Good. Now, everyone please stand against that wall over there.”
sigh This is the downside to Hulu. I won’t actually be able to watch it until anywhere from 5am tomorrow to 8 days from now, depending on what their update schedule is.
Not quite as good an episode, but it was nice to have the show back. Total :eek: about the Princess. That’s a rather impressive way to convince dadums to make the right choice.
This show was different, with really great themes, dialog and intrigue. And Ian McShane. Such a great idea with fantastic execution. Now, the concept is wasted, squandered, because it’s not about lawyers, cops, or doctors.
Pfff.
My only problem with last night’s episode, is: How dumb was the princess? Very dumb. But it did make for a gut-wrenching moment at the end. But still, DUMB.
My memory is a bit hazy, but I think someone found some high-heeled shoes in Andrew’s quarters that were implied to be his. I took it to mean that he was banished for being a transvestite and/or homosexual. We’d already seen that Silas (and perhaps all of Gilboa) is rather unenlightened when it comes to such matters.
