I have a sink like this with a corner drain and cannot stand the sink protector with the center hole we have.
I searched and searched and cannot find a sink protector for a corner-drain. Anyone got ideas for me?

I got mine at Linen’s N Things.
Do you have that exact sink in the picture? The American Standard white sink? If you do, I have a question to ask you. If not, nevermind.
In the pic it’s in the center, but in the store they have them for the side.

Cardiwen, thanks for the info, I’ll check out.
Yes, I have the American Standard Americast sink in white, so ask away.
Great!
I had a stainless steel double sink similiar to the one in the Home Depot ad. I had no real use for a double sink. I don’t wash dishes and only use the sink to was an occasional pot so I got the white sink because I thought it’d look nicer in my kitcen and it does.
I’m not hard on appliances and about a month after I had my sink put in I notice fine scratches on the bottom. I thought they were just marks that needed to be cleaned but they feel like tiny scratches.
Are they that delicate? I’m really angry that I only had the sink for about a month and it’s scratched. I tried to call American Standard but haven’t gotten any satisfaction. I imagine Home Depot or Lowes might take it back because they’re good about that but I’d have to pay the plumber to remove it again.
What’s your experience with sinks like this? Plus, reading the book you can’t use any sort of an abrasive cleaner. I had to buy this polish and wait till it dries and buff the sink.
Do I have a defective sink or something or are they really this delicate and high maintenance?
This is the stuff they recommended cleaning the sink with

A quick search for Americast sink turns up some mighty pissed off customers; scratches, chips, stains etc.
Makes me glad I sprung for cast Iron. It weighs a ton, but looks great even after hard use.
Great! It never occured to me that there would be a problem with the sink.
My grandmother had a sink like that for years and it looked new. Maybe a different material?
I honestly never looked at or noticed the bottom of the sink, but we have had a sink protector in there since we got it… I put it in about 8 years ago, so if it were scratched badly I guess I would have noticed. My wife (aka: phungal) says we have a special cleaner Barkeeper’s Friend, making me a neanderthal husband who never cleaned the sink in 8 years other than with a dobie.
Any handyman type person should be able to pull a sink out and come back later to replace it, and it should be ALOT less then what you’d pay a plumber.
A bit of a delayed follow-up, but I purchased this model which is a perfect fit and manufactured specifically for the Americast sink.
As soon as I put it in the sink, I thought “perfect”, and I don’t usually get excited about things like this.
If you have an Americast sink with a corner drain, get one of these…
What is a sink protector used for? Is it a sleeker version of the rubber mat mom used when washing the delicate dishes??
it is a rack that sits on the bottom of the sink, so dishes, etc sit on the rack instead of the sink. These are especially useful with enamel sinks such as the one I referred to above.
Right, they’re meant to protect the sink from scratches and chips, not the dishes. Your mom’s rubber mat was meant to protect the dishes from breaking or chipping if they slipped out of her hand in the slippery water.
