I am in the same boat as bughunter…I say Pasadena, since I live here. Lucky Baldwin’s is mighty fun (I can never turn down a Guinness) but would be a tad cramped, esp. on a Saturday Night. If it is Redondo I probably would pass, too. Too far!! Maybe bughunter an dmyself will simply get together in your guys honor

We need some kind of e-mail system to remind our LA dopers. I only found out about the last dopefest when Johnny LA reminded me over in GQ, and by that time it was too late. My attendance in MPSIMS goes in phases.
Plus I’ll get to congratulate Spiny Norman and Shayna! And try to get some compromising pictures too.
P.S. Redondo Beach is fine by me. We can prove Patti Smith wrong (“Down by the ocean, it was so dismal”)

I’ll see if I can angle for that day off. Now that I’m working at a much better place than before, I don’t think that will be too much of a problem. (See, you should have had the dopefest in Santa Monica this time… I could walk to Ye Olde King’s Head from where I’m at now!)
Even if I can’t get the day off, I still get out of work around 4ish, so if the dopefest isn’t until 7 pm or so, then there’s no problem.
If I do have the day off, I can give Spoofer & Monster a ride now that I’m (finally) living up in their neck of the woods.

Whee! THis will be so much fun! ANyway, just a note on things like dodgers games (though it doesnt look like that’s the plan), I have limited resources, I get paid once a month (student assistants dont get paid that well), so, i have to limit my fun to restaurants and hanging out with great people ;). In other words, cheap-ish is best.
I’m looking forward to this fest in Redondo Beach. I need a little vacation from the Monterey and San Francisco Bay areas, so this fest will be a nice change of pace.
Well first off thanks for the E-mail I only notice these types of threads sometimes, I’m in the valley, I wish I would have seen the last one in time I work at Universal Studios, (No I’m not a ticket boy, that’s where our law office is) ohhh well. So anyway I tried checking a map but if anyone could offer some general directions like what freeways to take to redondo beach I would be gractious, I live relatively close to the 118 and the 405 as a reference point, Ohh and I’m only 19 is that a problem (are we going to some kinda bar?) otherwise count me as a maybe
