Well if it starts after 4:30 I will be able to join.
When movie times are posted at the Pacific Theatres for the movie, I’ll let you know, deb. It will most likely be a showing sometime between 4 and 5, since we’re shooting for the “rush hour” show.
BTW, if you can’t make it in time for the movie, you’re still welcome to come to dinner after.
I’d like to do December 1st. I’d like to get to a Dopefest for a change!
Well I just found out that our xmas dinner for work is scheduled for Dec. 1…in Pasadena , go figure. I would rather go to a dopefest, although I would really have preferred not to make that choice, if we can nail down these plans then I can at least tell my boss I have plans. So is Dec. 1 a hard date?
Well, Tretiak it seems that the majority is calling for December 1st as Thanksgiving is going to be taken for most people, and I believe if we do it any later, then holiday plans will start getting in the way. 
There’s no way you can work around the party somehow to come over and at least meet us for a drink?
About dinner at Border Grill: I’ve been told by management, that if I have a party of more than ten people (although they may slide for me a little for up to twelve) on a Saturday night that we will be served from a limited menu. Good things about the menu–appetizers & dessert are a part of it and you do save about $8 if you were to order all that stuff on your own; bad thing–it still is a limited menu, and some may find it pricy ($28 per person + tax & tip). So, what I’m going to do is give you guys the menu, if you’re up for doing that, then I’ll make the reservation. If you decide that’s not what you want, then we’ll do something else. The area is full of other options.
Here’s the menu:
Appetizers:
Homemade Tortilla Chips with Salsa Trio
Fresh Guacamole
Green Corn Tamales
Plantain Empanadas
Entrees:
Pescado Veracruzano (Alaskan halibut pan seared and baked, served in white wine garlic broth, with tomato, jalapeno, olives, and oregano)
Grilled Skirt Steak (marinated with garlic, cilantro, cumin, and pepper; served with black beans, marinated tomatoes, charred corn relish & flour tortilla)
Sauteed Rock Shrimp (with toasted ancho chiles, slivered garlic, parsley and lime, served with seared greens & rice–I’ve had this before, it’s really good)
Portabello Milanesa (crusted in blue cornmeal with tomato arugula salad, grilled onions, and ancho buttermilk dressing)
Dessert:
Chef’s signature dessert assortment (basically they give you a little slice of almost everything in the case)
So, please decide in the next day or two if this is what you want to do, so I can either make reservations, or start to make new plans for dinner.
Throw in a decent marguerita on top of that and you’ve got a deal.
The margaritas there are outstanding–three usually puts me into a lovely drunken bliss.
I won’t be able to attend. I’ll probably catch “Harry Porthole” – I mean “Potter” next week.
Well, I’ve only got one positive response for Border Grill, so tomorrow, I’m making the reservation for 7:15 PM which should give us plenty of time for the movie, and for us to gather any others that just want to come for dinner and not the movie.

Just to let people know, this limited menu is if we only have more than 12 or more for dinner. If we do end up having more people, plans can be easily changed. There is a fantastic tapas bar on Green Street (just a few doors down from Buca de Beppo, for those of you remember the other dopefest held there).
