LA Area DOPEFEST - Come Meet EuroDoper, Spiny Norman!

At the request of Mercutio, I’m starting a new thread that says it’s a DOPEFEST in the title.

My sweetheart, Spiny Norman, is coming all the way from Hamburg, Germany to LA to visit and would love to meet some of the local Dopers while he’s here. In this thread, some of us hashed out a date and a location.

Thanks to Mercutio for assiting with coordinating this event! He phoned Ye Olde King’s Head and learned that they do, in fact, allow minors in for dinner. He has kindly made a reservation for

Wednesday, April 25th at 8:00pm.

(The date is set, but if the time doesn’t work for anyone, let us know. I know we could be there by 7:00pm, if you guys want to get an earlier start.)

So far in attendance we have me (of course :)), the guest of honor, Spiny Norman, Mercutio, pricciar, JohnnyLA, JavaMaven1, Monster104 (and I’m assuming his brother SPOOFE Bo Diddly?), and possibly Ashtar. Who else would like to join us?

Nothing is set in stone, the reservation is very flexible. If you are going, just reply to this thread even if you have said that you were going in the past thread.

I’m in with a tentative yes. It all depends on the availablity of a ride. Javamaven might able to provide a ride.

Well, I technically have an acting class that night… but fuck it, I’ve been a good student, I’ve been kissing the teacher’s ass, I can ditch class to hang wit’ me Doper buds!!!

With that in mind, all I’ll need to work out will be transportation. But I’ll have my digital camera (again… the results from the last Dopefest can be seen here).

Unfortunately, I won’t be able to make it that night. I’m eyeball-deep in a project at work that’s keeping me there later, and later, and later…

Mauv, you don’t know how much I wish you could be here to meet my Thomas. He’ll be back, though, so perhaps next time we’ll be willing to give up a weekend night to be with friends and you can come in town then.

This thread’s been around for, what, 3 days before I saw it? If I didn’t know better, I’d say I’ve been doing too much work whilst at work. Fortunately, I know better. [sub]A couple pet projects of mine have been progressing nicely, though.[/sub]

I normally wouldn’t be up for mid-week partying, but since it’s a whooping 15 minutes away from me, how could I refuse?

I have to sit this one out.

I’m really sorry–it’s just that at 8 PM–anywhere in the LA area would take at least 2 hours to drive to and back. And I have work and classes on Thursday beginning at 7 AM. Then I got to begin planning my schedule for the weekend convention.
Somebody take pictures for me! A real live authentic -European-! I can’t believe it!
