Am I really scary
???
Hi Johnny L.A.! We can discuss “plummeting” anytime, so long as neither of us is inside or operating any type of machinery at the moment.
SPOOFE, I didn’t get to talk to you much, but I’m pleased to have attended a 'fest with you.
phouka and Shayna, it was nice to meet you two. You were so friendly! That really helped me to get over my nervousness. Thank you both.
By the way, get Ann posting ASAP!
Ashtar, good to meet you. Hope you had a safe ride home.
Arnold and Cowboy Greg, a pleasure.
Esprix, you’re just too cool. I had a great time talking with you. Your shirt was neat --a perfect pairing with baglady’s buttons. Many thanks to her for those.
[sub]As for KK, well… the next time I want to visit the west coast, maybe I’ll give you a call?[/sub]
Anamorphic, Melin, and Wrenchr– I didn’t get to talk with you folks much, but it was nice to see you there.
Finally, thank you, Monster 104, for organizing this 'fest. I’m sure this little get-together will be one of the highlights of my trip. It was also nice to finally meet you.
For everyone that didn’t make it, it would have been awesome to have met you this weekend. Maybe I’ll be on this side of the Pacific again for another 'fest one day…
You’re not scary at all, Johnny, but that Mr. Tomato Face sure was!
I had a great time, everyone! Thank you all for making my little sister feel so welcome. She also had a lot of fun and enjoyed meeting everyone. She’s not into the message board thing, so I doubt she’ll be joining us, but as a newbie to the LA area, I wanted to get her out and about and meeting new people. Thanks for being so gracious.
I wish I’d have gotten to talk to Greg, KK and Audrey more than I did (which was practically not at all). Audrey, I hope you enjoy your stay in LA. It was really cool that you came to our Dopefest all the way from Hawaii!!
Ashley, you are absolutely adorable and I’m sure you’ll make a great nurse someday. You can tell that you’ll have a very kind bedside manner - your patients will love you! Just out of curiosity, what kind of data did you go home with from your study of us lunatics?
Anamorphic, those eyes!. Your People Pages pic just doesn’t do them justice. And you’re also a sweetie. It was a pleasure sitting next to you at dinner.
Rick, as alway, what a joy. Sorry to have led you to that godawful plate of glue you had to endure. But you did better than I and were polite enough to eat all of that glop. Next time (if there ever is a next time at Jerry’s), they’d better have my stinkin’ potato pancakes!!
Please tell Melin that it was nice to see her again, too. Next time she’ll have to get a sitter and bring Highlander along with her.
Esprix, what can I say? In person, you’re just the same as you are here on the boards - you sure know how to command a room!
It was very nice to meet you. And yes, the shirt was great!
Arnold, it’s always lovely to be in your company and Saturday night was no exception. The only thing that would have made it better is if you hadn’t locked Elizabeth in the cellar and had let her come out to play with us, too. Of course, that’ll teach her not to make fun of your beautiful gold lamé shirt. (And some people say it’s only women who have any kind of fashion sense - Ha!)
Phouka, you’re just too cute and sweet for words. Thanks for sharing your onion rings with me! I’m really glad you moved to LA so you could come to all the Dopefests!
SPOOFE, everyone’s right - you are weird.
And also funny and nice. It was my pleasure to give you and your brother a ride - I enjoyed every minute of your company.
Monster, you cutie pie! You did a great job planning and coordinating the event. Thank you for putting it all together for us. If the next even is after April 26th, you’ll be getting a big ol’ kiss from moi!!
Oh, and Grace, if you’re reading this, I did get a nice, warm hug, so eat your heart out!!
To everyone who couldn’t make it, we did miss you and you’ll have to make it a point to be at the next one!
Oh, and phouka (having now read 'sprix’ comments more closely :o )
http://www.cuups.org/content/chapters/chapter.html
has a list of local cuups chapters; I dunno if there’s one in San Diego, but my local (in Thousand Oaks) is having our Full Moon ritual on 3/9 if you wanna come up here.
or not.
Johnny, aw, you’re not that scary. What you did to that poor sundae, on the other hand… sniff
And jab, canoe. (Being from Hawaii and all, y’know?) It was a cool game though. Due to the weather, we just kinda walked all the way down to the sixth or seventh row to watch the second half. Unfortunately, the cheerleaders decided to take the second half off (note: sadly, this is not a euphemism for anything naughty), go figure.
Hey! That sundae deserved it!

Pictures? Pictures pictures pictures?
Those of us who never get to go to Dopefests have to live vicariously, ya know.
I didn’t even realize it until I got home that night - skin peeling, hair flat . . . at least I didn’t spill Russian dressing on my sweatshirt. sigh
Anyways, Shayna, you’re a doll. We need more of ya. And bring your sis, Ann along whenever possible. Esprix, you’re just as saucy in person as you are on the board. Thanks for looking into the CUUPS thing for me - when you get up early on a Sunday morning, that is.
BTW, I believe that Johnny LA’s separated-at-birth twin brother is, in fact, George Dzundza, but I haven’t found a picture of him to verify. I’m talking about the cop on Law & Order’s first season (or so).
AudreyK and KK, I should have spent more time getting to know you, but I did love the black leather look you were sporting.
Melin, I promise I’ll stop in at the fff. I’m currently looking for a happy thread to post too. Keep in touch, and say hi to Highlander for me.
Monster104 and SPOOFE, you guys are great. Ah, SPOOFE, if only you were ten years older. sigh
I know I’ve missed some, but that’s through my own carelessness. Dogsbody, Pricciar, and Mercutio, you were missed. Hope to see you at the next one.
We ended up without a babysitter, and so I told Melin to go and have fun. Thanks to Wrenchr for being her chauffeur.
I understand that glasses were raised to those two who have left us: To Wally. And to Dr.Watson. We are diminished.

I had a great time! I’m sorry I didn’t get to talk to more of you, but it was nice getting to meet all of you. I’m also sorry we didn’t get a chance to bowl, so I could kick your collective asses.
And I’m surprised no one has mentioned our celebrity sighting. After all, it’s not everyday you get to see the Olsen twins in person!
:
: Aw, thanks, Shayna! It was a pleasure sitting next to you, too! I had a great time talking to you and your sister, who you need to get to sign up on the boards.
So when’s the next L.A. Dopefest?
Ok, I’m trying to get pics up on a Fortunecity site, but between a combination of being too lazy and pretending I have to do schoolwork, it gets kinda rough.
Spoofe’ll probably beat me to putting pictures up.
