Creepy in a sexual way no, but I got some really strange ones from a (female?) poster who didn’t last long.
I’ve only had 2 PMs, both innocuous, in all of my long posting history on message boards beginning in the early eighties. While I might not be completely invisible, I am definitely translucent :(.
On the brighter side, one of those PMs was a notice banning me from posting on a message board for people with schizoid personality disorder, which I found absolutely delightful :D.
Were all of your personalities banned or just one?

Depends on how you define ‘creepy’. I’ve never gotten anything I’ve found offensive or crude. I have had a couple that made me go :dubious:
Never had a one but I’m pretty sure my gender-neutral name has a lot to do with it.
I’ve received sexually suggestive PM’s from virtually every female member of the SDMB. As a serious-minded male member of the SDMB community, I find this lascivious activity very troubling and I would like it significantly curtailed. I have no doubt the ladies in question are simply surrendering to their animalistic carnal needs, and may not, in fact, be able to help themselves…but still, being treated as a purely sexual object is not the [del]only[/del] reason I joined this esteemed message board.
Of course, if “hooking-up” with some of these SDMB girls-in-need would be psychologically therapeutic for them, who am I to deny them that treatment and ultimate pathway to fulfillment? I do take great pride in my benevolent nature. But, seriously, despite my well-documented, perpetual-motion-like sexual staying power, how on earth could I possibly fulfill the needs of each and every SDMB chick? It’s impossible, simple as that.
At most, I could satisfy the sexual needs of perhaps 10% of the SDMB honeys, but no more—sorry. But, which 10% do we choose to get the Tibby Treatment? That’s a good question, and one that I will allow you, the esteemed SDMB community, help me to decide. What sort of criteria should we use to determine which SDMB babes get my treatment? It really doesn’t matter to me; you choose, I’ll comply.
Yes, you’re right, we could choose strictly by lottery. But, on deeper reflection, I could easily be accused of manipulating the numbers. That sort of thing happens all the time. No, we need a different criterion.
Sure, we could use I.Q. as the determinant, say the top 10% female I.Q’s get to have their way with me. But, then again, do I really want to be accused of being prejudiced against stupid women? I think not.
So, let’s just pick something completely arbitrary from the hat…I don’t know…how about breast size? Yes? Ok, then, it’s settled.
SDMB ladies, send me high-resolution photos of your naked breasts circumnavigated by a cloth measuring tape (one-inch above nipple level) and I will choose the lucky winners based on my clinical assessment.

I’m not sure I appreciate the implication of your post. However, your photo is certainly in top 10% territory, so, keep your fingers crossed!
Schizoids are highly closed-in unemotional (to others) people, not (A) those with multiple personalities, or (B) those who see or hear hallucinations.

No creepy ones here - I had a very odd one on FB once when I was using a picture of my daughter & I as my picture. I changed my pic & ignored the message & never heard from the person again.
Oh damn. Checking my Outbox, I see I sent that to Marley by mistake. Again! The last time I mistakenly sent my masturbating-video-complete-with-money-shot PM to him instead of to the intended Doper, it was about a half-hour before everyone on the Board got banned. So hold onto your hats, because there’s no telling what’s going to happen this time! :eek:
As for the PMs I receive, they’ve pretty much all been mundane. Usually help with Thai stuff, and I don’t even mean the live lesbian sex shows. Travel info, translations. I even helped one poster identify and track down a certain type of Thai decoration she’d seen somewhere. But there was one PM that was very odd. I honestly don’t even remember the poster’s name now. He was not someone I even recognized, but I do remember he was fairly active based on his post count.
But he sent me a PM saying he worked with a Thai lady at his job in the US. An attractive older Thai lady who had a daughter. He wanted to ask her out. On their first date, he wanted to take her to a shooting range. He went into great detail about how he had done some research and found that Thailand had very restrictive gun laws, and he wanted to introduce her and possibly her daughter to the sport of shooting since she probably had never had the opportunity to be involved with guns. He also wanted to know what cultural considerations there might be in asking her out, as I recall. But mainly he went on for some length about guns, and I honestly could not tell if he was serious or pulling my leg because he knew what a total gun-control advocate I am myself. I suspected the latter even though I had not popped into any gun threads recently, nor did I recall ever having had any interaction with him.
So I answered him truthfully and seriously that while it was true Thailand had restrictive gun laws – very restrictive gun laws – the law in this regard was, like every other law in Thailand, flouted to such an extreme degree as to render it meaningless, and that Thailand was in fact awash in guns, and if it was true that her co-worker had never been involved with guns, then it was probably a personal choice and certainly not a lack of opportunity. (And I don’t just mean your Saturday-night specials. There are a helluva lot of war weapons floating around, coming in mainly from Cambodia. I still recall July 2000, when we were living in a suburb outside of the city, and close to our place they discovered a cab driver sitting dead in his taxi on the street come daybreak, his car riddled with holes from what was described precisely as “war weapons.” They figure he cut off the wrong person while driving and paid the price. I don’t think that was ever solved, and the cops just filed it away, because really, where do you even start looking for a perp in a case like that in this place?)
But I digress. Anyway, without giving my personal thoughts on gun control, I simply informed him of the true gun situation here, advised him just to ask her if she’d like to go out to the firing range with him some day and wished him luck. Never heard back. I still think he may have been trying to bust my balls over gun control, but I didn’t rise to the bait.
