Ladies, how do you like your men? short and fit (or) tall and overweight?

Just out of curiosity, how do either of these categories compare to tall and fit?

I’m 5’1" and I always dated tall and skinny. My shortest ex-boyfriend was 5’11".

Mr Johnson is 5’8" and slim. I’m happy with the height difference. My nose isn’t at arm-pit level and I can kiss him without straining my neck.

I’ve never dated anyone who was overweight, muscular or normal. They were closer to underweight/scrawny.

I prefer people who don’t work too much on their bodies. I have nothing against healthy, but I have nothing against people with a few vices, either, or people who lead more cerebral lives. But I find vanity tiresome, and I find that people who work out more than a couple hours a week are generally vain. Also, they like to stick to their own kind. I used to be short and skinny, and now I’m short and average, but I don’t think “fit” would describe me very well.

My shortness is why I answered, since I’m guessing the question is kind of looking for the opinion of people closer to 5’5" than 6’2". Not that there are no 6’2" ladies, but it seems like the question was mostly about whether it’s important for a man to be taller than you.

Minor hijack: I don’t think many people, even fat chicks such as myself, would take anyone to task for not being sexually attracted to fat chicks. However, that’s a very different issue from someone sporting a t-shirt or bumper sticker that declares, “No Fat Chicks,” and acting as though he wants fat women to disappear entirely (because women have no value other than as sex objects).

Tall and fit worked for me. Why compromise?

Short and overweight.

Actually, every preconception I’ve had about what kind of man I would find attractive has been smashed to pieces by “smart and funny.”

I’d have to go with tall and chunky–I’m pretty tall and haven’t had much luck with the short, fit ones. In my experience short guys who really get into body building have weird complexes and want to get aggro with the big chick… I figure go with the tall guy who’s laid back enough not to worry too much about his looks and then work the fat off him… snicker :wally

Oh, and being short can be a detriment, but nowhere near like being fat or missing a limb or even going bald, I imagine.

I read that as mostly librarian ancenstry
