This might seem like some creepy fetish question, but it’s really about logistics.
I was folding laundry the other night, and I had this giant pile of socks when I was done folding. My wife had only two pairs. From my perspective, every day it’s a new pair of socks and a new pair of underwear. My wife, with the open toed shoes, may not need to wear a pair of socks again until fall comes around.
So could you go the entire summer without wearing socks? Longer?
I can easily not wear socks for the entire summer. At the moment, the only time I wear them is if I’m going out to do the weekly shopping when I need to put my trainers on instead.
I don’t wear socks to bed. Other than that I wear socks all waking hours, except sometimes in summer. Sandals are not barn wear, nor are they much use for hiking muddy forest trails. These days I’m rarely off the property on paved or indoor surfaces so it’s all socks all the time. In hot weather I wear ankle socks though.
I don’t wear socks at all from April-ish until October. I only wear sandals. I HATE socks. In the winter, however, my feet get so cold that I wear those heavy-duty, Arctic hiking socks (I’ve even gotten recommendations for the warmest socks here). And I have a few pairs of shoes larger than my normal size to accommodate those super-bulky socks. During sock season I change socks several times a day to make sure they’re always dry and warm. I hate wearing them. I hate keeping track of them, matching them, pairing them. Even though I’m a household of one, I STILL LOSE SOCKS! Where the eff do they GO?? Socks are the tools of Satan (as are leaf-blowers).
I only wear socks if my feet are cold or my shoes rub. Or if I’m doing something very active and sweat producing.
-In the barn I wear Danskos (clogs) or grubby sneakers - no socks
-At work I have comfortable and supportive sneaker-y shoes that I wear with no socks. Occasionally I’ll wear a non-barn pair of Danskos and those can rub after a long day so I might wear light socks.
-Around the house I’m always barefoot, or have shearling slippers on.
I also live in South Carolina so weather cold enough for socks all day lasts maybe 2 weeks a year. In essence, I live barefooted
My feet sweat all the time. I like socks. They wick away sweat. To the dismay of my shoe salesman, I bought a pair of oofas (a plastic show that most people wear sockless) sized up so I can fit socks into it. I don’t like the feel of the plastic on my feet, especially if my feet are very sweaty. But i do have a pair that “fits” barefoot that i might wear if I’m just lounging around in cool dry air.
I used to live in shearling slippers, but now i need more arch support.
I don’t wear socks in the shower or when swimming, and I rarely wear them to bed. Other than that, sock it to me! Like puzzlegal, I don’t like plastic against my feet, or even leather, for that matter. So unless I’m in water or in bed, it’s socks and skechers.
My wife think she hasn’t had socks on since they were part of her school uniform, 35 years ago.
I love in Florida and have been out of work for two months.
I have not worn socks in that time.
Socks every day. But then I usually wear athletic shoes.
I don’t like wearing socks. I’m in west central Indiana, so, we don’t have much of a winter, here. I don’t wear socks any time of year. It’s a rare thing, if I do. My feet have to be freezing, before I wear them to bed. I just don’t like socks, is all. If it’s a hot, humid day, and we’re going to a festival, that requires a good bit of walking, I’ll wear thin socks with my sneakers. That’s it, though.
I do not wear socks. Can’t stand them. The only exception I make is when I have to shovel snow and am wearing boots. I used to get athlete’s foot constantly, but have not had it since I quit wearing socks. I have fat toes that are really close together.
My wife does not own any socks. The one time she needed a pair she borrowed one of mine then complained about them being too big. It’s sockless year around for her.
Yes, long live socks! I wear them every day. I find if I don’t, the skin on my feet dries out and gets rough.
My husband, on the other hand, hates socks and he said one of the things he’s most looking forward to being retired (which will happen in June) is not having to wear socks any more.
I live in SoCal, so I pretty much only wear socks if I’m working out or wearing boots. I have done entire loads of laundry with no socks.
Same here. I don’t like wearing socks, and I wear sandals most of the time in the summer (even when doing yardwork) but I have to walk the dogs every day, and I have to wear athletic shoes while doing so, so I have to wear socks every day.
In the summer, I only wear socks when I’m walking the dogs because I’m wearing tennies (or whatever you call them in your neck of the woods). Otherwise, I’m in sandals. Since summer only lasts about 3-4 months here, the rest of the year I have to wear socks. I hate them tho. If I sit on the couch with my legs pulled up, they twist around - UGH! I hate that feeling. So I usually wear some sort of slipper with or without socks when I’m in the house during cold weather. And ABSOLUTELY no socks in bed
Never answer an OP that starts with “Ladies…” !
I’m no lady, but it varies for me.
Mowing the yard with old athletic shoes - Usually no socks
Sandals, Skechers, Converse - No socks
New Balance - Usually socks
Dress Shoes (rarely wear nowadays) - Socks
Yeah… that is a weird opening.
