Ow! I’m embarassed… That should’ve been 6’3’’ and 6’ – Merkin measurements had me mixed up:)
I’m 1,70 meters, so’s my current SO. Ex-hubby was 1,88 meters, last BF 1,80, and GFs have been around 1,70. There:)
(And “1,70” reads as “one point seventy”.)
I’m 5’ 10", have usually dated taller guys… there was one fella that was a few inches shorter than me, it wouldn’t have been a big deal if he just hadn’t mentioned it * every time we were together *. I felt like I was being reproached for my height! Forget that noise…
So does this mean that women really don’t care about height, but society pressures them to date taller men, or is it an individual sexual attraction issue?
No, RH, I think that a lot of women definitely do care about height and prefer a taller man. It’s a strange brew of societal pressure and sexual attraction. Unfortunately, I’d have to say that IN GENERAL most women prefer a taller man. But, fortunately, that has little bearing on any PARTICULAR man or woman.
As I, and many others on this thread have said, being uptight about being short is way more unattractive than being short.
Maybe we’ve gotten off track. I don’t consider myself short. And I certainly would never make comments to any woman intimating that she is “too tall”. I am perfectly fine with my height … I’m just wondering if women, in general, have a cutoff height for men they date, and, in general, is the cutoff height greater than their own height?
I ask because I prefer dating taller women, and I want to know what my odds are.
My sweetie is 5’8" and I’m nearly 5’11", so there’s a bit of a difference. I don’t think I could go much shorter than 5’8" though. Because I guess I have issues.
But seriously, its not height that makes a man attractive.
