I’m embarassed to even admit I put one on there (I’d never admit it to anyone IRL). None of ya’ll know me on here, though, so it doesn’t matter.
But yeah, Papa, you’re right. I’ve never seen a fat girl with a high score, no matter HOW pretty she is (I’m fat and I KNOW I am much better looking than my score suggests). Likewise I’ve seen some REALLY skanky looking girls with scores near 10. Which brings me to another issue: what’s with all the people with scores near 10? Nobody is a 10 unless they’ve been touched up on a computer.
I think raters tend to go for the stereotypical standards of beauty: blonde hair, big tits, young, skinny, preferably half naked. The more you deviate from the standard, the lower the score will be, it seems.
I’ve seen quite a few very pretty girls who are not exactly skinny get scores of 8 or above, which is a good score. Herearejustafew, plus I’m cough not a stick figure myself and my score is fairly up there, as you can see. So I suppose it’s possible to pack some extra pounds and still score well on hotornot (disclaimer: not that it matters), but, as is the case in the real world, seems like you’d better have a helluva face to “make up for it”.
None of the girls you linked to are fat. Three of them could be called voluptuous, yes, but fat? No. I might add that those three have cleavage out to Kalamazoo, which probably helped their scores a bit.

Well, I really was looking for some “legitimately” heavy girls whose scores I could check, but there are very few to be found on the site, probably due to the same fears you expressed. I’ve seen the personal website of #2 sometime in the distant past and can vouch for the fact that she is at least voluptuous, but you’re right, she looks thin from that angle. #3 is certainly normal but I guess I just included her because, while I find her very attractive, I hadn’t at all expected that hotornot’s usual rating pool would agree with me to such an extent.
You know, all this discussion becomes kind of moot when you consider that a vast, vast majority of visitors to the site simply scroll through the pictures by clicking the same score - usually 1 or 5 - over and over, occasionally making the effort to haul the mouse over to the far right to vote a 10 on one of those skinny blonde bombshells.
I have to fight the urge to put my picture up on one of those rating type sites. I’m curious as to how I’d rank. Really, really curious but I can’t make myself do it. I just know, as sure as the world, as soon as I put my picture up on one of those sites someone I know IRL would stumble across it and heckle me to death over it. See, (big generalization coming) all the people on those sites are shallow and vapid*, it would be bad to be a sheep and be like them (end generalization)…but oh how I want to be shallow. I want people to tell me I’m pretty and beautiful and give me 10s (as if that would ever happen!).
It’s something I silently struggle with every day. sigh :o
except you fine Dopers who have posted your pictures on Hot or Not. Obviously if you’re Dopers you couldn’t possibly be vapid or shallow. I admire your ability to be hot and intelligent at the same time.
That is a great pic, and you have a very intriguing smile. Good facial features. Now, I’d give that an 8 or a 9. Just so you know, I really almost never give out a 1 or a 10, so a 9 (from me) is very high praise indeed. The same foto can go up & down a rating point depending on my mood and the surrounding pics.
Oh, note that some people ask all their freinds to go to their site and keep giving them '10’s" over and over. Kinda spoils the whole idea if you ask me- but they didn’t.

I’m scared to put a pic of myself on one of those sites because I never really feel like I look like myself in pictures. I guess I’m just not “photogenic.”
You look fine to me, but don’t take my word for it, I am neither female or attracted to males, but with a bit of manipulation your could get a photo taken that could get you a very high score. For one, try to get a picture a bit further away, nobody wants to see your pores. Secondly, the shadow thing probably isn’t going to attract too many women- though ya never know. Shave is my suggestion. Get a bit of your upperbody into the picture, find an angle that you think you look best and work with it. It took me many tries before I found something that I felt worked. I don’t use photo shop, mostly because I don’t know how and don’t really have time to master it. I just follow the creed of the million monkeys. After a while, ONE of em has to look good.
