I realize there are a lot of people who do not have regular periods. What’s the latest you’ve ever been to find out you weren’t pregnant?
What about those of you who are very regular? What was the latest you ever were? What was it (do you think) that made you late? Stress? Something else?
Test. It’s worth the money to get an answer, especially if you’re more than a couple of weeks late.
If you are more than a couple of weeks late and you get a negative result, see a doctor. Having irregular periods was the first tip off for all of the women in my family that we were hypothyroid, but there can be other weirdo gynecological things going on and if you catch them early, all the better for you and your future reproductive health.
I totally skipped my cycle last June, and went to the doctors and I wasn’t pregnant, and then the cycle returned to semi-normal the following month. Sort of scared me though. I couldn’t have been pregnant you see… and I wasn’t under any particular stress, so I thought I had something majorly wrong with me, seeing as my cycle had been fairly regular for the past few years. So the longest would be a lil over a full month. And that’s only happened once. My friend though would go a couple months sometimes without getting hers, however she is very thin, and that could have something to do with it.
Twice (that I can remember) I’ve missed a month. The first time I was so stressed out by school, it came as absolutely no surprise when I missed a month. The second time I was also stressed out, keeping radically and bizarrely erratic hours, so that wasn’t exactly a shock either.
I had about a 40 day cycle once so I guess that made me 2 or 3 weeks late. I was at my all-time highest weight, or near it, so that’s probably what did it; before then I was very regular.
Now I’m on the Pill, but I’ve lost a bunch of weight so I don’t know if I’m regular again or not.
I once went to 38 days,but I was young; maybe 21 and still a virgin so I wasn’t worried.
It took quite a lot of years to become regular.
i never was really, but it was usually 24-29 days.
Now I am on the pill, its always 28 days.
When not on the Pill, about a week. Maybe. I’ve always been very regular.
When on the Pill, I once skipped a month. I was absolutely certain I was pregnant (despite the Pill); I had never skipped, wasn’t stressed or sick–there was no reason to skip a month.
No cause the doctors could find. I was under a little stress. I had lost some weight. But two years is a long time to go for a little stress and 15 lbs. (I’m five six/seven. During the periodless period I weight around 107 pounds. If that’s enough to push a girl over the edge, there isn’t a non-character actress in Hollywood that has had a period in years)
Before that I was 28 days, 2 hours. So regular I could set atomic time by my PMS.
After than I’ve been continually irregular. Infertile for a three year period, followed by a surprise pregnancy that we didn’t discover until the end of the first trimester. (Silly me, skipping a period or two is perfectly normal - and I couldn’t get pregnant with medical intervetion - why would I imagine I’d get pregnant by chance).
However, I consider myself blessed…most of that two year period I was celebate - less worry. I stayed on the pill during that time. And one of my girlfriends had a two year long period around the same time. I’d rather not have a period than have one that doesn’t stop.
I’ll second the “if in doubt, test” The peace of mind alone is worth the $12.
9 months… I used to only have periods every nine months. Would’ve been scared but I wasn’t sexually active.
I was irregular until I found a good birth control… NuvaRing. I recommend it to anyone looking for bc. I missed last month (no spotting but slight tissue loss) and there is a pregnancy test in my future, but I’m not worried. I’m also hypothyroid (I’ve been borderline since three y/o or so and finally went on meds at 21).
Is there a time limit between getting preggers and having it show up on a storebought test?
I’m fairly regular. The latest I’ve ever been is a week. Since I was 101% positive I wasn’t pregnant, that wasn’t nearly as annoying as the two occasions it showed up 2 weeks early…
I had a 41 day cycle in college once. I had just lost my virginity about a month and a half before, so I was sweating bullets. Since then I’ve had some irregular cycles (thank you hypothyroidism), but I’m pretty much 25 days.
