Ladies: Which male physique would you prefer?

11 is pretty much me, except I don’t think I’m equally tall.

I don’t think he looks so good though. Not muscular enough. Yes, it’s better than 5-10, but only because they look un-athletically big.

On the top of my head, Christian Bale in Equilibrium and Adward Norton in American History X, look much better than any of these 11.

Another example of a guy who has a very nice build without being quite as skinny as #11 but also no overbuilt like all the others is Bob, the personal trainer from the TV show “The Biggest Loser.”

Mmm, Bob. As you can see although he has got a rockin’ 6-pack he is not ripped “to the max” and particularly his arms are not overworked with creepy giant biceps. I have no idea where the myth comes from that women like giant biceps.

:faints:

Yes, Bob looks very very nice.

But why for the love of all that is holy does everyone show us their underwear now? I don’t want to see your underwear! Even if you’re a sexy man. Really, not even then.

#11
::drool::

I am 26.

Right there with ya, babe!

Yep, I have found my physical ideal and it is Bob. Who knew?

Now, all I have to do is explain to my husband why I suddenly want to start watching a crappy reality show…

Mmm, Bob indeed! I’m suddenly feeling a little flushed and must lie down.

It bothers me that men in this thread keep refering to #11 as skinny. He is muscular and lean.

For skinny and non-muscular, see Topher Grace and Zach Braff.

It really should not be a surprise that women like lean and muscular physiques. Take a gander at these guys, who are all dreamboats:
David Beckham
Oded Fehr and
Brad Pitt
If you can get a physique like these guys, I predict success with the ladies.

Seconded

Okay, how about this? Mike Holmes from the tv reno show “Holmes on Homes”. He’s a big boy, but he’s worked at construction since forever - I don’t think his muscles come from a gym. He’s not normally my type, but he can build a house for you from top to bottom - how sexy is that?

Building me a home? Très sexy. His body? Well, I wouldn’t turn him down, but he’s not my ideal. I like lots of things that aren’t my ideal. I prefer him to any of the guys in the OP (except #11). One set of shoulders? Check. Traps that don’t exceed his abdominal silhouette? Check. Can lower arms all the way to the side of his body? Check. Strong like bull? Most likely.

I think it’s part of the schism between the sexes. Kinda like how a lot of women bemoan their “fat” hips and thighs where guys just think it looks curvy.

Huh. it makes sense that it’s all the same guy 'cause I didn’t see a huge difference between pics 5-9. He’s at 8 to 10% bodyfat in all those pictures which is pretty lean for a guy. I think a lot of women are turned off by the oiling up and the posing which is why they like #7 which looks a lot more natural in jeans. That’s also part of the appeal of #11, he’s just hanging out and not posing.

If the guy in the examples was just standing normally and not trying to pose, he’d look a lot like Bob the trainer. The arms away from the body stance doesn’t mean he can’t lower his arms, he’s actually working at flaring out his lats to make his back look wider and tensing the muscles in his arms to emphasize them.

Well, it doesn’t mean that guy there can’t, but I’ve known guys about that size and shape who can’t, and it looks dumb. I had a roommate once who also couldn’t lift his arms straight up over his head - we were drywalling the ceiling once, and while he could lift whole sheets of drywall up over his head, he couldn’t lift them into place - his arms wouldn’t straighten because his shoulders were in the way. Ucky.

I’m a straight male, so I don’t really have a vote in the “yummy boy” poll. But I’d like to add my 2 pennies, FWIW:
The OP’er seems to already have this figured out, but it’s not a good idea to work out based on how someone else will react, if you intend to make it a successful habit. Exercise is a personal thing, and you’ll hopefully do it because of the endorphin rush, sense of accomplishment, et al. Doing it just for the vanity of having someone else notice you rarely produces lasting results.
OK…I’ll stop ranting now and let more ladies tell us which guy they want to rub up against.

Well, number 11 is skinny. “Lean” is a synonym for “not having much body fat” ergo, “skinny”. He’s in shape from athletic activities, and that’s pretty apparent.
This comes from a skinny guy, too.

Hardly any replies to #4? (thanks to those that approved) Do you know how hard it is for me to maintain this? Where are my 4’s at? Holler.

#11.

#7 is my second choice but he’s venturing *very * close to the “too big” range.

I’m a 35 year old who has a thing for a swimmer’s body. Just Google Michael Phelps and that pretty much the body type that makes me drool.

Number 11, but 9 is nice, too

You know, that guy wouldn’t be half bad if you just got rid of those weird muscles (his lats?) that you can see on his sides, the ones that sort of disappear into his armpits? If you could just Photoshop those out and make his arms hang naturally, I bet more people would vote for him.

ETA: I like Bob too. Yummy!

My preference would probably be 2 - I don’t like really muscular hardbodies, and I really dislike huge muscle-bound forms. I like a proportional, not too fat/not too skinny body on a man - that is, if I’m choosing a partner. For the record, my husband is more like #1, and his shape doesn’t bother me at all.

Now, if I’m watching a dancer, I like a lean, muscular guy, but if you look at the guys I’ve dated in my life, they all tend to be average height and slightly overweight.

I’m 53, and I try not to lust after young studs.
