Lady Dopers: How often do you wear perfume?

Thierry Mugler’s Angel. Daily. I am addicted to it, & have most of the related products, like lotions, hair spray, candle, etc. Best & cheapest is bought directly in Paris.

I wear rose, lavender, or frankincense essential oil most days, and use rose or jasmine scented soap. I don’t own any “real” perfumes, since I’m allegic to most of them.

I wear Opium, almost every day, but I wear a very minute amount of it – you’d have to bury your face in my neck to really get a good sniff of it.

Which is kind of the point.

Like Blonde, I have over 20 different scents. Some expensive, (Chanel No 5, along with Femme by Rochas remain favorites) and some not at all. My favorite vanillascent is actually a certain brand vanilla bakingessence.

I wear one of these scents whenever I’m in the mood. Oten on my wrists when I go to sleep. Or whenever I pass the cabinet where I keep them. I sometimes spray them around the house, or on my pillow.

I never wear them to work, because of studies that have shown a recognizable perfumesmell interferes with a professional image.

I only wear it on special occasions–if I have a date, a nice fancy party, or expect to see an ex-boyfriend. For every day, I have scented lotions and a light Body Shop ginger oil–it’s been my experience (and pardon the horrid generalization) that men react to me better if I smell faintly like food. Vanilla, cinnamon, ginger, very very light, just a faint touch of it.

For those special occasions, I usually wear Poison, but I’ve had the same bottle for well over five years, so obviously I don’t have many special occasions.

I wear Chanel No. 5 perfume sometimes, but I actually prefer the body lotion, which stays with you. I also wear Red Door (Elizabeth Arden), but I’m kind of burned out on it. I need a new scent, because I wear it every day. Except I forgot today…Monday morning fog and all…

I wear Tribu all the time. When I get dressed, I spray once on my neck and once on my wrists. I love the smell of it, and I get complimented on it constantly.

It’s the only perfume that I LOVE. I couldn’t find it in stores for a couple of years, but just found another bottle (ON SALE!) last weekend. SO I’m set for another couple of years. haha

I wear perfume everyday but I wear different scents for different occasions. I have two I wear in summer for work, one I wear only in winter.

Two I wear only on dates, one I wear specifically with my bf and he has never been with me wearing anything else.

Never. I don’t even own any. My mom is allergic to 99.9999% of the perfumes on the market, so I never got in the habit, really.

My ex never seemed to notice, though he did like the smell of the shampoo I used. I have since switched, since the smell brings it all back, and that’s the last thing I want!

I rarely apply “perfume”. However in addition to the fragrance, I have the lotion in my favorite fragrance (Happy) and I wear it almost daily.

I usually use essential oil (the one I’m using now is Honeysuckle, but i find it to be a wee bit too cloyingly sweet, so I’m going to search for a new one). I open the cap (of my 1 dram glass bottle), cover the opening with my finger and invert the bottle for a second. Then I take that bit of oil and dab right behind each ear. The scent is subtle (you have to be close to me to smell it), but the oil lasts all damn day.

I’m tempted to try “Morning Glory” by Calgon, simply because the tester at F/M smelled nice on me and lasted a long time, but I’m broke right now.

Rarely and then only a non-alcohol based perfume. Alcohol-based perfumes smell disgusting to me and give me headaches.

Almost never. I’ve never bought any for myself…the only time I use anything is if I get it for Christmas, then I’ll wear whatever I’ve gotten as a gift for a few weeks, but then it just tapers off.

I used to only wear perfume for special occasions…which is how I have an almost-full bottle of Colors by Benetton I don’t use because it smells outdated to me now (step right up, ladies and gentlemen, and smell 1987 in a bottle!).

So now I use my perfume every day. Right now, I’m wearing Estee Lauder’s Green Tea, although some days I wear Victoria’s Secret Amber Romance.

Mr. Levins bought me Clinique’s Happy for the Christmas before last, and I still have a third of the bottle. I asked for it; I do love the way it smells, but I bartend four/five days a week and call me crazy but I just don’t like wasting perfume behind a sweaty bar. (Er…I’ll be the sweaty one there, not the actual bar.)

I usually use body spray…those little tiny ones you get at Wal-Mart in the bath/body section. It’s subtle and not overwhelming and so cheap I don’t mind “wasting” it for work. (And people have complimented me on my “perfume.”)

So the short answer is: I’d love to wear perfume more often. I just can’t see justifying it. sigh

I wear Estee Lauder’s Youth Dew every day and have for the past 20 years. I flirted briefly with EL’s Cinnabar and have worn gifts of other perfumes but rarely. I don’t wear perfume or strongly scented lotion when I’m working in an area where patients can be easily nauseated or have breathing impairments, but as I work in PostPartum, I wear a little Youth Dew every day.

Almost every day. I wear a kind of obscure scent that’s hard to find, but I don’t wear much of it and don’t tell people what it is if they don’t immediately recognize it–which they usually don’t. However, my husband knows what it is and that it’s always a welcome gift. (Every spring and fall I have a few allergy days. That’s when I don’t wear it.)

Update: I remembered to put perfume on today. My Chanel No. 5 makes me smell loverly! But I must go scent-shopping.

I love perfume and wear it every day except when I work because 1–it’s not allowed and 2. many patients complain when their nurses reek of perfume. On work days I will wear just a small spritz of Bath and Body Works type splash usually in either vanilla or raspberry. I used to love “Limelight” but they don’t make it anymore.

As for perfumes, my favorites are.

Youth Dew by Estee Lauder- I know it is an old fashioned old ladies perfume but I tried it on one day on a whim and got at least 5 compliments on how nice I smelled. It changes after I’ve had it one for a few minutes and I have to say I smell great. Thom really really likes it so I wear it for him

Ciara-sexy but strong. It lasts for hours though.

Passion by Elizabeth Taylor

Jessica McClintock–a white floral, very light and clean.

Tea Rose- original scent and also Tea Rose Jasmine. Light and clean, much like Jessica McClintock.

I wear White Diamonds just about every day. I wear Joy Eu de Parfume on special occasions.
