I wear Salvador Dali perfume every single day of my life, and have for the past 10 years or so. I hate scented anything else, though- I always buy unscented hairspray, body lotion, etc, and I am very particular about shampoo- Neutrogena and baby shampoo all I use, and I rarely use conditioner because I have fine hair.
I know you didn’t ask for male opinions, but I followed one of the ladies in here, so can I stay long enough to say, I really couldn’t care less if a lady wears perfume, or not. (Unless it’s overpowering, in which case, I hate it.) It does nothing for me 99.9% of the time. I much prefer the natural scent of the lady, herself. And, most women already add enough scents to themselves, between shampoo, conditioner, styling products, makeup, deodorant, and skin lotion. (I’m probably forgetting a few.) Some of those are very faint. Some are nice. Some aren’t. Same with perfumes; some smell nice, others not. But, we all know I’m a tad unusual, so maybe it’s just me. I just thought you might like to hear from a man.
No, I’m not telling which of you lovely ladies I followed in.
I wear fragrance daily.
During the hot summer months I wear Elizabeth Arden’s green tea - it’s fresh and light, good for hot weather.
When it’s cold I like to mix it up a little. My faves are Gucci Eau du Parfum, Dunhill Desire, Chanel Madamoselle, to name a few. I have quite a large collection, but only usually wear those scents.
FWIW, my SO digs it big time. He gets to guess what I’m going to smell like the next time he sees me.
i’m a young and silly college girl so…body splash if im going out of my house, perfume if i’m definitely sure that i will encounter persons of the opposite sex that i’d want to smell good around. i just go on that - Cute guy at the party? perfume… Grocery store? body splash… Grocery store with cute guy from the party? oh dear…:dubious:
It’s part of my “dress” routine, but otherwise, no.
My chosen fragrance is Jessica McClintock cologne, a very light floral, mostly lily of the valley. Always alcohol based, never oil based perfume.
Right after I bathe I put one spritz into the air and then walk through the mist. If somebody can consciously detect it a foot away it’s too much. Scent should be a subtle thing. BTW, I’ve never had a complaint but have had some suprised compliments.
Of course there was the thrilling time when an Offenderati waxed wroth over my “perfume”–when I wasn’t wearing any. The bright-lights-and-bludgeons questioning about my shampoo, soap, deodorant, etc. was pretty risible. Sorry it’s a hard ol’ life but I’m not gonna start carrying a notarized list of personal products.

I wear fruity scents in the summer - cheap-ish stuff from Dans un Jardin (like Bath and Body Works, but in Montreal). I like watermelon and pear, and I enjoy having people tell me I smell great.
But for special occasions, or even some days just for school if I feel like it, I wear Glamorous from Ralph Lauren. I can’t wear “real perfumes” in summer, though, because I find them to be too strong in the heat.
I like “green” scents such as Aliage by Estee´Lauder and Manifesto by Isabella Rossellini. I have a funny story about scents, though. One day at work I thought a cow-orker had sprayed on a fresh, light scent and I complimented her on it. She laughed, and replied that she’d sprayed her cubicle with Lysol’s fresh linen scent. I bought some for my home and I really like it. Should I take the can to a department perfume counter and ask the saleslady for a perfume that resembles the spray? Or can I just save money and spray myself with the Lysol spray?
Ohh I LOVE Rush. I agree its daring. I wear lighter perfume for work but I always wear perfume, I have every day since I was 11.
I grew up with a father that wears cologne and my brother does too. I have married two men, the first loathed cologne and the second finds too many excuses to not put any on For me, a man who wears cologne is very much a real man. I still love my husband- but if he wore Mania by Armani, he would never make it out of our bedroom.
