Today I’ve heard about 6 really good songs on tv (ads mainly)
I recognise every song but I’m buggered if I know what they are called. This is like having a big pile of bangers and mash waved in front of a starving person. I am starved of good music! argh!
If you can remember or write down a recognizable sentence from the song (assuming it has lyrics), a search on Google for “<remembered phrase> lyrics” will usually turn it up.
Of course, more often than not it’s the tune I remember, not the lyrics. But still…
Because of sites like those, I’ve been able to find what I’m looking for.
So I’m going to pit the radio stations that don’t say what they are playing!!! That drives me crazy. I don’t listen to regular radio anymore, only internet because if I like a song, I can instantly know who is playing it and what it is called.
Also, here in the UK at least there’s a service which will let you play about 5-10 seconds of pretty much any song down the phone, and it’ll tell you what it was and who sang it. It’s about as close to magic as any technological advance I can think of, and I’m buggered if I can remember what it’s called. Ironic, really.
