Lame computer questions re: Favorites

Requisite technical info: I use Internet Explorer v.6.0.2800.1106 on a 500MHz Celeron, Windows 98 SE Dell Laptop.

On the Favorites menu of the browser there is a default folder labelled “Links” (I never understood the rationale for this folder; I mean, all of my favorites are links. But I digress). Anyway, I delete this folder (because there’s nothing in it) and go merrily on my way about the internet. Couple of days later… Links shows up again. I have never been able to figure out if there’s a particular site that I’m going to that causing this to happen or what.

Anyone know of a way to make this folder permanently disappear?

Here’s how

Thank ya kindly.

Since Windows keeps putting it back in, you can just leave it there and hide it. Right-click the folder and click Properties on the menu that pops up. On the General tab you will find Attributes. Check the box beside Hidden, then click OK. The folder will still be there but you won’t see it anymore.
