My friends from law school and I are chipping in to buy a plane ticket for one of our unemployed comrades so that he can go visit his girlfriend. Naturally, we want to milk as much humor out of this as we can. So, I was thinking of printing up an Extremely Pretentious Certificate to give the fellow along with his ticket. Towards that end, could some knowledgeable person translate the following into Latin?
“In recognition of his good character, commitment to public service, and pledge to show mercy towards the members of this body when the revolution comes, the Board of Directors of [School Name] Alumni for Booty Calls hereby awards [NAME] the First Annual [School Name] Almnus Booty Call Grant, with all the rights. privileges and responsibilities appertaining thereto.”
I know that a literal translation may not be possible - what’s the Latin for “Booty Call”? - but something that matches the above in tone as much as possible would be very helpful.
Thanks, all!
(Note: I’m not sure whether requests for translation belong here or in MPSIMS. Since translation requests produce factual product - “the translation is such-and-such” - GQ seemed reasonable, so I posted here.)
