Good Mornin’ Y’all! Once again up, purtified, brekkied, and caffeinated so no YAWN. ‘Tis 39 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 73 and rain startin’ some time this afternoon and into the night. We also have a “pollen alert.” I am goin’ to large and in charge Dawson, Jawja first thing to day so I get to slack a little bit before leavin’ da cave. Then it’s on to the orifice! Rah!
Got into irk before the predicted rain/thunder-boomers move in, so hopefully will stay dry, since I brought lunch and don’t have to go outside.
FCM, I’m halfway through my year on Firday, 40 workdays gone and 40 more to go to retirement. I don’t have enough work to do either, but not complaining, they got 34 good years out of me, they can have a couple of mediocre months.
pearl, not sure we’ve been introduced, but did you fall on the porch, or off the railing, or down the steps? I don’t have a porch so I have to find other ways to injure myself (being on a ladder changing the air filter is has pretty good chance for maimery for me.
Annie welcome back; I’m metal mouse (found out you don’t get a choice in the matter). Good bunch and better national weather forecasts that the NWS.
la la la la la la la <twiddling thumbs> Something is seriously wrong with the server - either I can’t call up parts or they come up missing components. And I’m not the only one. So while the IT guys work their magic, the rest of us are idle. With absolutely everything done electronically, there’s really nothing I can do.
Well, I suppose I could start packing, but I haven’t been here long enough to amass much stuff. I figure I’ll just spend my last half day hauling things to my car. Oh, I did just water my spider plant, so there’s that. But the next place I work doesn’t have windows, so I guess the plant goes back home.
Metal mouse: I remember you! I’m always finding inventive ways to hurt myself. In this case, we have no railing on the back steps (they were newly installed not long ago) so I either lost my footing or wasn’t paying attention to where I stepped and I fell off the side.
Tuchus better today, but I must’ve jammed up my shoulder a bit.
Greetings from the land of the foggy sun. Rain today, tra la, tra la.
I just figured out that my solar panel router has been done, so data hasn’t been transmitting on power collection. Grrr. I guess it’s another thing I need to add to the mental checklist of things to do every now and then. Reboot the solar router.
Kid 2 off to school. Kid 1 snoozing through alarm.
Afternoon, mumpers. I am at irk and irked. I’ve been doing staff development meetings this week, last one tomorrow, and now my line manager tells me we have to do something else in addition to the paperwork we’ve already got. And as if that’s not enough, we will be moving to quarterly appraisals soon so that will generate even more work. In other news, I am getting three more minions…
Pearl, I hope your ouchies are better today!
mooom, will they be having a farewell party for you to showcase your list of outstanding achievements?
I am off to the Thinema tonight - live theatre screening in the cinema. Tonight’s play is Hangmen by David McDonagh so that will be a change from the usual Shakespeare. I’m meeting two friends at the cinema beforehand for a quick meal in their café before the fun starts.
I sure hope not. Apart from the fact that I’ve not been here 6 months yet, I just want to fade away. I don’t like people to make a fuss. When I transferred from FL to MD for the last time, I told my boss I didn’t want a party, but he insisted. I think they just wanted an excuse to go out to lunch.
Speaking of lunch, I just ingested a sammich and some cucumber. I’ve got an orange, but I don’t think I want it. Maybe later.
I’ve been coughing and sneezing and dealing with a drippy nose most of the morning. I don’t feel sick, but I am tired. I’m trying to confine my germy self to my cubicle as much as possible.
Mooom, you’re lucky to get a plant. We have to abide by 5S principles at my irkplace and are limited to 3 personal items on our desks, with plants heavily discouraged.
Welcome back, Annie!
Pearl, just be thankful that you didn’t fall off my porch/deck. You would’ve needed an ambulance.
I had to swing by the blue box this morning to mail Sis’ birthday card (she’s the big 5-0) and saw the prettiest sky. It was that still-a-little-dark-but-the-sun’s-up shade of blue. The rain didn’t begin until I got ready to get out of my car at irk.
I got a new project today, so time is going a little faster.
It’s been a busy morning and lots more to do. I irked, paid some bills, called in refills on my prescriptions, checked up on a dr bill I should have received and didn’t. The nice lady has called about my government grant several times but damnit I have been too busy to answer the phone. I have to finish reading and signing mortgage papers, and finish my taxes.
Howdy Y’all! Day four survived and tomorrow is irk from da cave. YAY! Ham 'n N.O.T. casserole, peas ‘n carrots, and rolls for dindin tonight. I need to put said casserole (made this mornin’) in the oven shortly.
MOOOOOM what, no cake that says “We’ll Miss You Linda”?
wetone that looks to be sound and sage advice.
Annie stay and play with us please!
Pearl hope the ouchies are better soonest.
‘Tis startin’ to cloud up here. Maybe some rain after all. We shall see.
I want a DQ Blizzard. Mayhaps I shall suggest we go after dindin, like OYKW is gonna say he does not want to go. He loves him a DQ 'nanner split.
