You got off lucky!
Reminisce. Do a kebab BBQ. You make all the fillings in advance - salads, sauces, salsa, bought tahini, bought hummos, whatever. Buy the unleavened bread. On the BBQ do skewers of lamb, beef, chicken and spiced mushrooms (for the vegetarians). It is horrifyingly cheap compared to buying kebabs. You can chuck them together for not much more than a dollar each.
And everyone makes their own and if you do it outdoors (maybe not now) you don’t need to wash up much.
If these things are like gyros, I am insanely jealous. Gyros are one of my favorite foods!
But it is not the same as stumbling home to Potts Point/Kings Cross (ok Kings Cross…but the hostel said it WAS Potts Point!) at 4-6 am, with random Swedes, Germans, Brits etc!
OK, so I miss being young!..I also miss Kebab days
Pretty much. A kebab is basically the Turkish version of a gyro.
No, I was thinking the same thing. Donner Kebab? I’ll pass.
