Joe Biden tweets: “We’ve heard the wishes of the American people loud and clear; we’re happy to announce that our new puppy will now be known as Brandon. Let’s go, Brandon!”
Then we sell/buy a fuckload of shirts, flags, etc. with a pic of the dog and his catchphrase: Let’s go, Brandon!
I call dibs on the knock-off shirts with images of Brandon squatting over a newspaper with Trump, MTG, or really any other GOPer’s picture on the page.

I am (only slightly) surprised that Biden’s team had not made him aware that the phrase was flying around the meme-sphere as a veiled insult, just so he would be prepared if he heard it. Maybe come up with a innocuous canned response if someone uttered it to him (or shouted it at him). Are they out of touch?
What in the world makes you think he wasn’t aware of the phrase? If he was unaware, he’d have been confused by the strange non-sequitor. Saying “I agree, Let’s Go Brandon” and moving on took the wind right out of that Trumper’s sails. I doubt he’d have done that if he wasn’t already aware of the phrase.
Somewhere out there is a poor person named Karen Brandon who’s just had the worst year or two.
It’s such an easy phrase for its target to ironically embrace, I’m surprised there hasn’t been a concerted effort to do so by the White House. I guess I should be reassured that they don’t spend a lot of time worrying about petty memes.

No it’s not. No one is trying to hide who they are dissing with this. It’s not a coded phrase or a dog whistle. It’s just the encapulation of two things: dislike of President Biden, and how the media likes to twist things they don’t like, It’s a double shot at the President and the media. Everyone knows it’s an insult to Biden. Or if you prefer, it’s just a viral meme like ‘Drumpf’, only more successful,

Adults laugh and walk away. Trump supporters are nothing but school yard bully’s. That’s all they have, and are just making fools of themselves. But that sort of goes without saying.
