swampy’s confused. But he’s an old geezer, so that’s to be expected. 
I’m home - I got to the office early so I left early. I’ve got the start of a batch of sketty sauce on the stove and I’ll attend to it shortly. I’m thinking my supper will be a sammich, or maybe mac-n-cheese. We’ll see how I feel when the sketty sauce is built.

Sauce is done and it’s cooling. I ended up making myself an egg sammich. Ice cream later, chillage on the recliner with Higgs and Taz right now. Good times! 
I used to use tomato paste, garlic, mushrooms and spices.
After being married, I used a bottled sauce and add ground beef, garlic and spices.
I use ground beef, diced onions, chunked mushrooms, canned diced tomatoes, tomato sauce and paste, garlic, oregano, basil, pepper, and a glug of burgundy. Don’t ask for amounts - I have no idea. I just throw stuff in till it looks like enough. And it’s always good, so yay!
Higgs is snoring away and Taz is draped across my left leg. Ziva is snoozing on the dining room table. Exciting evening here.
Mmmm! That sauce sounds heavenly! My sauce recipe is pretty similar, but I add just a pinch of red pepper flakes for a little kick.
And work was busy as hell today…the price to pay for taking yesterday off. I have never been so happy to be home! The doggies have been walked, and I plan on spending a quiet evening just watching TV.
The only exciting thing to happen today was my little terrier’s encounter with a Canada goose this morning. Dexter spotted it first, and bolted after it, barking his not-so-fearsome little battle cry. I panicked, since it didn’t register what it was at first…I thought I was finally going to have to face one of the loathsome coyotes that live in the woods. All I saw was a large, grayish/brown thing. It took off flying before Dexter could get too close, and I was just astonished at how big it was. Nature is just amazing! I just hope my neighbors didn’t hear me scream!
Oh, and Mom, I’m a transplanted Yankee chick, originally from New Jersey. I now call South Carolina home, and have been here long enough to have lost my accent, and learn how to make proper collards…over 30 years now. And in spite of my vast expanse of woods and my own personal wild kingdom in the back yard, I actually live just outside of the SC state capitol.
I think you’re our first SC Mumper, sandwiched in there between **doggio **and swampy! There’s a mental image… :eek:
I’ve got 3 sacks o’ sketty sauce in the freezer, plus enough extra for tomorrow’s supper. Yay! I need to get the dishes done before bedtime. What are the odds??

We had a little rain. Was so nice cause we need rain. It weren’t enough but we’ll take what we can get. It was actually a cold front and the temps may have dropped a degree or two. I still have the A/C on. This weekend the WPTB are forecasting wx in the 60’s :eek::eek::eek:

I would like rain. I am experimenting with raising fairy shrimp for fish food. They need spring water, and I would like to see if they will hatch and live in rain water.

Taught new TDR people at work today and training new hires Thursday and Friday. Tomorrow I hope to get to do normal work.

I will be *soooooooo *glad when my sweetie gets home. Yeah, I miss him, but his dog is driving me crazy! I don’t know what it is she wants - I give her skritches, I try to play with her, but she just gives me these sad eyes and whines. She misses her daddy, for sure.
We’re promised several pretty days thru Saturday, then the bottom falls out of the temps and Sunday will be coooooooooooooold and windy. I wish we could get some good, strong winds to knock all the rest of the leaves off the trees so we can be done with de-leafing the yard. But it’ll drag out a few more weeks. alas.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 46 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 79 and N.O.S. for the day. What is this “rain” you all speak of? It is a foreign concept to me. I need to go to the sto’ this mornin’ for some comestibles. Dindin shall be at the not too shabby Chinese [del]hog trough[/del] buffet cause OYKW wants to go there. Hey, he’s buyin’ so I’m eatin’. I shall also attend Evening Prayer over to the church house this evenin’.
OK that’s all I got for now. I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. I’m thinkin’ I’ll get purtified and go grab a bizkit for brekkie before headin’ to t he sto’.
