Let's kill the suspense-- American Idol 2/6--7

When we saw this (in passing, because the “Lost” recap show was on, but we did see this bit), my husband and I turned to each other and said: “Homer, you have it set on ‘whore!’” That may be the only comment my husband has about this show all season, and it isn’t even original.

I couldn’t hear any difference in quality between the two white roller-skating girls. I was surprised when they let Makeup Girl go to Hollywood.

The two I’m most interested in following at this point are Pedicab Girl and Make-Hasselhoff-Cry Guy.

Finally we got to see a little talent last night. Definitely pleased about that, but I am so ready for Hollywood. That’s when we get the most drama and I love it. My favorites from last night were the last girl with the 3-year-old daughter and the pedicab girl. The pedicab girl is like a female Bo or something. She’s awesome.

Slight hijack here: Has anyone else been watching “American Idol Rewind,” the re-airing of the first season? It’s usually on Saturday afternoons I think. Anyway, yesterday I was watching an episode I’d recorded and holy crap did Paula seem sober! Seriously, no slurring of words, no jumping up and down, no falling off her chair … it was bizarre. Just had to share.

Two who I am most definitely looking forward to seeing and hearing more of:
Sexy McCutie Jailbait. Man, that guy was pretty.
The guy who sang Cupid. His voice has been in my head ever since I heard him. I hope he lives up to his audition.

“Thanks for the motherly advice.” I LOVED Simon’s crack-up about that. “Nice comeback.”

This barely warrants its own post (I should’ve included it previously)…but wtf does “Good lookin’ out” MEAN?

Thanks for coming?
Nice try?
I like your shoes?

It just seems like random words stuck together.

Where I used to work it meant “way to foresee that potentially damaging problem and solving it posthaste” or thereabouts, but I think Randy conflates it with “good effort, dawg”.

Have you seen this? It’s Chris Sligh’s band. Not bad stuff (although fairly generic, IMO).

Add hippie lip-ring girl and lumbering scary goatie guy and you’ve got my top 4.

Waitaminut…I was just playing back this episode, and I heard Ryan say Pedi-cab girl was twenty-nine. I can only assume they mean she turned 29 between the audition and broadcast. (So did Bo, interestingly enough.)

She was Joplinesque, in my ever so humble opinion. I liked her voice and phrasing a lot. I liked the ballsy, bluesy tone.

Hubba, hubba. He was cute. And the one guy I read about here before watching (I’m West Coast)… The jailbait guy. Whoa. Just… whoa. He looks like a sculpture of a god. Um. Wow. Yeah.

According to the Wikipedia entry for American Idol there is actually a specific date that you must still be 28 on in order to audition. For season 5 and season 6 the date was August 4th. So she could have turned 29 anytime after the 4th and been fine to audition.
