Let's play a role-playing game

You can start your invocation now. But the things do continue to harass you. You could swear that one of them hissed “Happy Halloween!”

And with that, I’m off for the weekend.

As I said, I’ll attack

I’m back!

You attack, it, and as you swing, it steps up on to your sword and gives you the raspberry.

NAF continues to invoke.

As soon as I am done invoking I would like to hand the newly blessed sword to Rugger and let him give the bugger a good whack.

The little buggers keep up their mischief while you pray on the sword. Antinor breaks into song. Koldanar starts crying uncontrolably.

You pray and pray, and finish your invocation. The critters stop what they are doing, look at your sword, and shriek in horror. Their twisted faces grow even more twisted. They all disappear.

Everyone regains control of their minds.

It would seem that NAF’s enhanced weapon has driven off the Halloween Meenies. You spend a good 20 or 30 minutes waiting for their return, and are met with nothing but silence.

Continue north?

I think we’re clear now  - but did you realise that was me attacking, not Santo?

You were both attacking. And good job of it, too.

March on?

Sorry glee, I could only give it to one of you and in my head Rugger was on my sword hand side. Made for the easier hand off.

Thanks for everyone helping. No thanks to Antinor or Koldanar though, they seem to have left the game, so sucks to them.

I say we keep on going North. This trip has been strange so far, I can’t wait to see what happens next.

Oh that’s fine - you’re on the ball!

I’ll follow you North (as the DM suggests…)

You continue on your way. The weather gets a good deal worse – cold, windy, and rainy. As light fails, you set up camp. The rain subsides a little after midnight, during glee’s watch. Do you build a fire? (It’s cold, and there is no moon.)

It seems dangerous, but we will probably need one to survive the night. At least to survive it without getting seriously ill.

What do you guys think?

Yes. We’ll have somebody to keep watch, using our previously developed watch schedule. A warm meal would be nice tonight, too.

Also, NAF, would it be worth our time for you to bless all our equipment when we get a chance so we don’t have to try to do it in the middle of a battle?

Or are the chants specific to certain enemies?

We need a fire for warmth and light.

(Hostiles can probably smell us without the fire anyway.)

How long does the blessing last?
(Unless it’s at least hours, there’s little point.)

That particular blessing has a duration of only 10 minutes, so unless one encounters an enemy in that narrow window of time, it’s a bit of a waste.

ETA: Simulpost!

Because of the rain, you have a bit of a hard time finding firewood, but at least you have some torches. With some effort, you manage to get a meager blaze going.

And so you sleep.

Antinor (can someone find him?), during your watch in the wee small hours of the morning, you hear something. It sounds like a person is walking around somewhere out there.

I just tried to PM Antinor – he doesn’t receive PMs.

Shall we give him a day or two to respond?

Maybe we can say he yelled loud enough to wake one of us up?
