Your injuries are not bad at all. Little boo boos that band aids can fix. But you are still effectively blind and scattered. You don’t know where any of your mates are.
NAF, think really hard about praying to Larani for help.
(I’ll be unable to post for several hours.)
Drops to my knees and prays and prays and prays
shouts “Can you guys hear me?!”
Sure can. 'Sup? You want me to throw in an extra prayer on your behalf?
I dunno, I don’t know if my character believes in that.
Well if you don’t know, what does it hurt? How about this, I will throw in an extra prayer for all of us, that way you are included…just to be safe.
hopes that his decision didn’t hurt him or his comrades too badly and adds a prayer to that effect
Well what do you know? If you pray in just the right way, plead with Larani while doing vaious things, you can get her to do stuff for you.
You just have to guess what sorts of things you can do, and then see if you can remember the proper rituals. Hey, maybe you’re a priest!
Other than praying, there’s not much left to do. The rain finally slows to a trickle, and morning finally comes.
Now that the rain has stopped I am going to try a few things to see if I can’t jog my memory of the rituals.
:Picks up plants, and chants, and talks in any language I can remember, and perform various dances in an effort to jog my memory:
Updated stats and skills in post 27 of this thread.
The rain hasn’t stopped, it’s just slowed to pissy sprinkles. Gloomy morning ahead.
Stuff is coming back to you. You chant in Emela (think ancient Latin). “Omvs Laeranivs Palidaenvs, Veni Vidi Vici, Pasta Primaverivs, Lvcianvs Paravarativs…”
Words combine with actions. What if you said a prayer while asking for something? What if you touched a person you were trying to affect? What if you had holy symbols, holy water, holy wafers? Got on your knees? Get naked and burn incense?
And what do you hope to accomplish? Send the souls of the dead to Heaven? Baptise a baby? Turn righteous swords into flaming swords? Bless something?
Try stuff out and see if it works. What’s the worst that can happen? You get smited or something?
Right about this time, you hear the gentle roll of thunder…
You keep walking downhill.
On the left or right side of the river?
“Well guys, since we’re on the left side of the river (it was on our left, and then we crossed it), I see no reason why we should cross again without a compelling reason. It hurt enough the first time!”
Left it is. Antinor, your feet are killing you. You’ve got a number of cuts on them. This cuts your movement rate (and thus, everyone else’s) in half.
Walking, walking, walking. You make another three leagues in the pissing rain.
As the hill on your right descends, a wooden palisade grows out of it. It curves around to the right, enclosing a large yard. It’s probably several hundred feet long. Each stake is about 6 feet tall and sharpened to a spike at the top. In what appears to be the middle section of the wall (westernmost) is a 20 foot wooden tower.
Right about where the palisade begins, the stream widens into a pool of about 30 feet by 30 feet. It is dammed, and water is spilling over the dam. The river continues on from there.
(I take it we all got back together then?)
“Guys, we need to decide…rather quickly I would imagine, if we think this was built by people who would be friendly to us. Y’all think about that and I’m gonna soak my feet for a few minutes.”
Yes. (Crossing the river is not a huge deal.)
It looks to be a peaceful area…maybe we can send glee ahead as a scout (he runs fastest if there is trouble.)
While we wait, can you take a look at my feet? I hate slowing everything up.
Sure, if you think it is bad enough to warrent my attention.
:Examine Antinor’s feet: If my medical and first aid memories will help use that first. Otherwise I will pray that he is healed quickly.
