So… In the season finalle we found out Scully’s baby looks like a human being, and is presumably Mulder’s son.
[li]How are they going to explain his conception? In a flash back during episode Per Manum Scully said that the IVF didn’t work and it was her last chance, and since the evil experimenters removed all her eggs, just sleeping with Mulder(as I’ve heard several people claim was implied by the end of that scene) wouldn’t have accounted for it. Do you think it will be somehow explained away, or will the whole “divine intervention/child savior” thing be the angle they go towards?[/li]
[li]Suppose William is Mulder’s kid, how is that going to effect his and Scully’s relationship? Would they be (gasp!) open with their feelings for each other, and maybe even…date? Is Mulder the “weekend Dad” type or the fiercely over-protective type who’d want to see the baby often to make sure it’s ok?[/li]
[li]Does anyone else envision an episode about the baby’s supernatural nanny? (I’m not the only one who saw that B movie, right? The nanny was a demon or something)[/li]
[li]Is Mulder even going to be in this season’s episodes? What about Doggett? or Reyes? Will they keep tying to kill off Skinner?(I’ve only seen about 1/6th of the episodes and he already almost died in two of them at least)[/li]
[li]How many episodes will there be attempts by someone or something to kidnap and/or murder the baby? Just this season.[/li]
[li]What else do you think is/isn’t going to happen?[/li] I really wish I’d watched this show all along…especially knowing only seasons 1-3 are for sale, and season 4 isn’t even being released til November. At least FX has some of the re-runs of later seasons on weeknights.
No. I’ve never seen the Omen movies. This movie was about a couple who hired a nanny for their newborn, and she turned out to be even more evil than the Hand That Rocks The Cradle chick. I just remembered it was called The Guardian.( http://us.imdb.com/Details?0099710)
Duchovney isnt coming back. In an interview with…someone (I forgot who) he said that he’s done with the X-Files completely. Not even a cameo appearance. They’re going to have to find a way to eliminate Mulder from the show without even showing him. Good luck…
Not true. David Duchovny said he’s very open to another X-Files movie, which would be very appropriate for a topic such as the true paternity of the kid.
By the way, Gillian Anderson is ‘doing a Duchovny’ in that she will be in few episodes in Season 9 and then bowing out at the end. Meaning Reyes and Doggett will carry the torch from now on, leaving the original duo to make X-Files movies periodically.
I gathered from the episodes in the past season that Mulder was the father of William. I just thought that the Dr. jumped the gun when he said the IVF didn’t work. (which kinda lends itself to the miracle baby thing, so maybe they did that intentionally).
It’s going to be very interesting how they are going to explain Mulder not being there without making him look like a Deadbeat Dad. Scully’s absence they can explain with the baby, but Mulder? HMMMMM
Shame to hear that both are leaving though. Doggett and Reyes just don’t seem to have the chemistry that Mulder and Scully have. Then again, I don’t like change.
Lookin back at the season finale (ie – the kiss), I wish they would just admit their feelings to each other, do the horizontal mambo and get it over with. Now, we’ll never see that. Oh well.
I’m pretty sure I saw him say on Conan that he wasn’t coming back to the show, though I don’t remember him saying anything one way or the other about movies.
I’m sorry, I’m a devoted fan. I’ve seen EVERY episode up until this past season, where I only watched half. I’ve memorized episode titles and quotes and all that and all I have to say about another season is NO!
Movies I can handle, but with everything that’s happened I think a season without DD and with less of GA won’t be the X-Files anymore. It’ll be a clone with different characters. Who I, personally, don’t really care for.
It is also my belief that the baby IS Mulder’s, how I have no idea, and that’s the reason the aliens didn’t take it at the end of the season. They all just kind of left because the baby wasn’t what they thought.
And of course Mulder and Scully open up and finally get together. (I’m a Shipper. I TOTALY want to see them together…)
