Nah, I haven’t had any relish I’ve actually liked. I really like the crunch you get from a sliced pickle.

Random I guess, but I’d really rather it be kinda regular. I just don’t want that much pickle.

And it has to be the right kind of pickle. Fresher pickles work in burgers far better, IMHO. I agree that regular pickles can overwhelm the taste.

It also depends on the size of the patty. For a 1/4 pounder or less, then a couple chips is enough. For a 1/2 pounder, I prefer more aggressive pickle to balance the richness of the meat. I’m very big on rich foods need to be balanced with acidic counterpoints.
