Let's welcom Ultrafilter to Philly!

I work in Center City on Tuesday, so it’s not a big deal. Wednesday isn’t so good, anyway.

Okay.

Tuesday, 6:30, Indian, West Philly.

I think it’s possible the place we went to was Tandoor India, which apparently has a buffet – so let’s try New Delhi, at 4004 Chestnut. Shall we meet out front?

This is what I look like – I’ll be coming from work, so will be wearing a dress or skirt of some kind. PM me if you’d like to swap cell numbers.

What a nice smile! Hope I get to meet you in person someday. Have a great time, everyone.

Philster – you still planning to join us? We’re doing Indian, per your request …

I’m looking forward to this. All I can remember from my last encounter with Indian food is that the rice is great and the green relish-y stuff only looks innocuous.

Dang - I lost track of this thread, and it wouldn’t matter because I swing by Philly after work alot to meet friends, etc w/out any notice. When I walked out the door this morning my lovely wife asked me to attend my daughter’s kindergarten preview at 7pm tonight. My wife got called in to work the 7-7 shift tonight (gotta love those hospital schedules).

And here I am the one who pitched the Indian or Thai idea. I can do Wednesday or Thursday…I just triple checked with my wife.

I am absolutely in for Wednesday or Thursday. I see there isn’t 100% consensus on any night.

Your call. Sorry for creating confusion. :frowning:

I’m okay with moving it to Wednesday or Thursday.

It’s probably a bit late to shift the date around, if only because not everyone is guaranteed to have web access during the workday.

Yeah, good point. Sorry Philster.

Ultrafilter – I know we’ve been introduced, but it was very brief and it was at least a year and a half ago, so I’m not at all sure I’ll recognize you. I’m wearing a purple dress today, if that helps with the ID.

No worries, I should be able to recognize you from your photo.

FTR: We met without any problems (esp. since I was a tad late and everyone was waiting for me) and had a very pleasant dinner. Well, other than the part when Cleophus started to describe stripping down to play with the machines at work…
