I do know who you mean by the “right people.” Just because you don’t mean me doesn’t mean I’m good with a wish that the “right people,” or anyone, get sick and possibly die.
You responded “how so?” to my response to a poster who expressed a wish that the “right people” get COVID-19. It sounded sort of approving.
If I misunderstood your post, I apologize.
What I meant was that expressing a wish that the “right people” get sick and maybe die, for the good of society, is a pretty sick thing.
And identifying the “right people” in this way has a historical track record, wouldn’t you say?
The “right people” argument was with someone else. Not me.
I will say I have no compassion for the peoplegoing to church and the people blocking access to hospitals. If anyone “deserves” to get ill it is them.
(I am NOT saying give up your religion. Pray at home. Watch religious services on TV or the computer…God is everywhere.)
As I said, if I misunderstood (and it appears that I did), I apologize.
I’m still not comfortable with the idea that anyone “deserves” to get sick. Yes, I know you said “if.” I’m talking about what I’m comfortable with.
I do not want anyone to get sick and/or die.
But if you point to a nurse working hard to care for sick people and point to Joe Schmo who has a bug up his ass and goes out to church services because the government can’t tell him no I am comfortable in saying, if one person has to get sick, which one I hope it is.
And yeah…Joe Schmo kinda does deserve it for being such a fuckwit. He’s not just endangering himself, he is endangering others.
Then let me spell it out for you, you fucking politically correct moron: I want people who gleefully go out and “protest” to the point of endangering public safety to endanger themselves-- that’s not just a case of just desserts, it’s a matter of public safety. More of them ending up in an ICU because of their own stupidity means that there are fewer of these fuck-shits out there jeopardizing the health of everyone else who just wants to be a good, responsible citizen.
And I put “protest” in quotes because, for fucks sake, these animals aren’t “protesting” anything; they’re just being deliberately, purposefully disruptive out of spite. They voted for Trump to inflict pain, and they’ve supported so much of what he does for that very reason – I don’t know where to begin because I’ve lost count of all the outrages. They’re out “organizing” because they enjoy watching other people uncomfortable. Trump voters enjoy having power. Their “protests” are a show of force, a demonstration of power. They want the power to make the rest of us miserable. And I am so fucking tired of people who come out and try to idiot 'splain these fuckers to the rest of us. No, we get it! They like it when they see brown kids in cages, black men getting cuffed and shot, and intellectuals getting harassed on social media for having a brain.
I do my own taxes. With the changes to the standard deduction, the deduct-ability of state income taxes, and elimination of other deductions, my taxes went up by ~ 10%. Like Trump, I’m not going to publish my tax returns, but I know what my income is and how much tax I paid.
It went up, as a percentage of my income.
I’m not sure why you find that controversial. It was in all the papers.
Huh . . . Someone’s never been to Boston. The racism I’ve run into here matches anything I ever ran into growing up in farm and coal towns. We have a bunch of liberals to balance it out, but buddy, if you think that poor rural whites represent the entire racist-voting block, you all need to get off the Internet.
Actually, after a few years away from this place, I think you all need to get off the Internet regardless, but that’s for a different thread.
Since your making up things I never even suggested, yeah, you should probably get off the internet.
Ooooh, bonus points for mouthing off about rural America while screwing up “your” and “you’re.”
What about my quote is misrepresenting what you said? You blame rural America for racism and ignorance. I’m pointing out that racism is everywhere. How many urban environments went for Trump?
Perhaps a loophole was closed for you.
Federal taxes most certainly have not been raised 10% overall in the past several years.
And who do you think your wealth is being transferred to?
The far left pushes away voters just as assuredly as the far right.
You really think that ~49% of America wants to rape every woman and murder black people? For a lot of them, they were choosing the lesser of two evils.
Almost everyone moving TO North Carolina these days are going to be fairly well educated and therefore likely to be somewhat liberal.
I know a lot of people FROM North Carolina and they tend to be fair minded but you’re right, they don’t understand the notion of white privilege, mostly because they grew up poor and don’t see how they were much better off than their equally poor black neighbor. And yelling at them and calling them racist doesn’t seem to make them understand the issue any better.
I talk politics with them quite a bit and they can see the sense in better schools, better rights for workers, universal health care but they can’t always walk that mile in the shoes of minorities. no matter how much I insult them, scold them, and yell at them, they just don’t get it, not entirely.
Maybe there is some self selection on who leaves North Carolina and i’m only meeting the “good ones” but I’ve been through most of Eastern NC from outer banks to Chpel Hill and maybe they were just humoring me but noone seemed to want to rape women and murder black people like Der Trihs indicates. God and guns were in full display and i don’t think you can win that state if you go too hard on hating guns and god.
OP is singling out liberal assholes, as separate from (perhaps a subsection of?) “Liberals” in general. IMO not showing love for those who objected to that post is consistent with them not being addressed in the first place, perhaps, for not being liberal assholes. They might be just liberal. Or not. But not liberal assholes, in the op’s opinion, at that moment.
OP seems to lose track of who is on what side later in this here thread, which is understandable in any thread where Asahi takes off his adult diaper and lets whatever happens happen all over it. I wish Asahi could learn from Der Trihs: you can have opinions tangential to the discourse in the thread, radical and extreme, but there are ways to present them that don’t immediately trigger a gag-reflex.
I didn’t say they were. I said my taxes went up 10%, because the republicans changed the tax code in such a way as to increase taxes on people in high income/property tax states like California, New York, and Massachusetts while reducing taxes on people in low tax states.
This is definitely a wealth transfer from states that already pay more in federal taxes than they receive to states that receive more in federal taxes than they pay.
The situation was already lopsided, Trump/McConnell just made it worse.
I’ll ask again…
Who do you think the wealth is being transferred to?
You should hook up with Broomstick. That way, you can go batshit insane together!
The Republicans aren’t 49% of America, both parties are minorities.
And yes, I do think that the vast majority of Republicans would love to go on a rampage of rape and murder. They’re modern Nazis, and would love to see most of the human race enslaved or killed and every woman reduced to a slave.
If you only understood the principle of projection. And its only you using the language of violence.
