Life summons me, and I must follow.

Well, folks, the next two semesters, I’ll be back on a full course load, including three credits each of General Relativity, from a professor who’s been known to assign forty hours of homework a week.

I think you can see what I’m saying here.

With a full course load, I will no longer have time to fulfill the duties of a moderator on this board. This Sunday, the 19th, will be my last day on the job. I do intend to continue posting in all my old haunts, if not necessarily quite as much, and whenever I have a relatively easy week, I’ll crank out a Staff Report or two, so I won’t be a stranger.

Tuba, Lynn, and all, it’s been great working with you.

L-life? What is this…life…of which you speak? Is it some other message board, perhaps?

I have heard there are other message boards, but I am not sure if I believe it.

Do you think–Do you think there are other message boards, and they have people on them?

N-n-n-no! That means that Manny and Jill will have a free run of the place, without Chronos’ level-headed presence! You all know what this means, right? Right?!?

PARTY IN GQ!!!

Hey, yeah! We can post all the drug-related threads in GQ we want, now, right?

Chronos - All the very best for the coming next two semesters, damn! it sounds tough. I wish you well and thanks for doing a fine job of work while you could. Cheers.

Have fun recovering from the RSI. Good luck.

If “Life” has “summoned you” what kind of a pentacle did it use?

Good luck, dude.

May the shade of Einstein return to help you with your homework . . . (as if you’ll need help).

Seriously, don’t be a stranger around these parts. The place wouldn’t be the same without you.

So that ‘life’ thing has claimed yet another, huh?

Have a good semester, Chronos.

So, can you tell me where I can get some good mp3s?

Or, how to build a bong?

Or, what it would take to (insert something really outrageous but astronomical)?

We’re gonna miss you, Chronos. Lycka Till.

Best wishes, Chronos. It won’t be the same around here without you.

My very best to you, Chronos . . . you will be missed!

Chronos: As someone to whom physics has always been mysterious, I valued your posts: I knew I would be getting lucid explanations and clear examples. Not that they ever made much of a dent in my mountain of ignorance, but that was my fault, and you were always in there trying.

You were a quality mod too.

Thanks and good luck.

You did a fantastic job, David, and are a great guy to talk to. I wish you the best of luck with your busy schedule!

Una

I think the SDMB is still winning overall, though. But the physics geeks are about the last ones you expect to fall prey.

Good luck with the course load, Chronos. I’m glad to hear that you plan to keep posting as time (get it?) permits.

Best of luck, Chronos. I’m glad to see you’ll still be posting…not that I have any idea what you’re talking about half the time, but that’s just me.

Psst, Anth, I’m Dan. David is, well, David. But the thought is appreciated all the same.

Well, OK, I suppose it’s debateable whether physics is life, but something’s sure as heck summoning me. I think that it’s an hourglass-shaped pentacle (figure that one out, geometers!). And I’m a nerd, not a geek!

Just to reiterate: You’re not losing me completely, just the title under my name. I’ll still be answering physics questions.

:frowning: I’m terribly sorry…I meant to type Dan, but had a David on my mind.

Good luck, Chronos!
