lightweight/thin terry cloth bath robe for men?

My wife has attempted to purchase me a new bathrobe on two occasions:

First, a velour robe, which I found to be too thick and way too hot
Second, a terry cloth robe, which I found to be too thick

Did some searching and cannot find a lightweight/thin terry cloth robe.

It appears that terry cloth robes are rated “12-ounce” or “15-ounce” but I am not sure what this means with regard to weight and thickness (other than 15 is more than 12).

Any suggestions?

I really like Monarch Robes, but for some reason I cant get their website to open (I’m in Afghanistan). They are thin and lined and have different weights.

You might also look at waffled material instead of terry cloth.

I too had trouble finding one for my son to take to college that was not too bulky. You can often find cotton robes that are waffle-weave (like a spa robe) at Bed Bath & Beyond (use a 20% off coupon) but they are usually white. I think I found one for my son on Amazon or Kohls website (not sure which) that was navy, around $40. You can sometimes find them in seersucker cotton, too, so try to Google “robe” “waffle” or “seersucker” and see what you get.

Thanks. Just ordered one for $40.

Higher end hotels usually have nice lightweight robes. Can be purchased.

DevineComedienne, In four years of college I never once say a guy in a robe, you sure he wants one?

Any hospital supply should do.

Well, I assumed he would be living in a dorm and have to walk down the hallway to the showers and back. Turns out he is living in a 4-bedroom apartment with three other guys, and they have two bathrooms. So I doubt he has ever worn it. Color me an overprotective mom trying to cover every possibility

Men actually wear robes in real life? I thought they were just costume wear that people wore in movies.

I can think of no time in my daily routine when wearing a robe makes sense.

Long story, but family moved out of town, and now stays with us for a week… pre-shower, getting morning paper types of things… not for “lounging” per se…

When I don’t want to put my pants on just to walk to and from the shower or to let the dog out.
