One of the videos taken of her doing coke in a nightclub bathroom within the last few months has her bragging about all the Hollywood men she’s bagged. And ends with her saying she’d fly to Europe because she knows she could bed Jude Law.
There’s of course a 99% probability that she was just making shit up to sound like she’s got quite the stable of the hottest of the hot, but if you’re going to be spouting on about how slutty you’ve been, then you’ve got to accept the fact taht people are going to call you “skank”.
Her career is going to be a mess now. She is going to be considered too high risk, and studios are going to have a terrible time getting their production insured. It won’t be worth it to the production company and it would be easier to find any other young starlet to fill the role.
I’m sorry, has anyone seen her mother? Does nobody think that it must be quite hard to stay sober and chaste when you mother is pimping you out for headlines, and by the looks of things has her own raging coke habit? C’mon, we have her own mother quoted as saying Calum freaking Best is good boyfriend material.
Oh, and I have my doubts about whether Lindsay’s “appendicitis” wasn’t actually more…gynaecological in nature.
Really I just feel sorry for her that there isn’t one adult in her life willing to take away her car keys. Somebody needs to cut up her cards, confiscate her keys and get her barred from her favourite clubs.
Obviously she has not hit rock bottom, or indeed, got through denial yet, so doing anything else to try and get her clean might be a waste of time, as it doesn’t look like she wants it enough yet.
You know, this isn’t exactly new information. There was a thread on it a couple of years ago (though I can’t find it because I can’t search for “Alf”) when the story first hit the tabloids.
I vaguely recall hearing about this at the time, but thought it was only that he was caught smoking crack- the paying homeless guys for unprotected sex is all new to me. Did they ever get ALF’s reaction to this?
Getting back to what Fetus was saying - I think people will bad mouth equally both men and women who make public fools of themselves. As seen by the men named so far in this very thread. The fact that people use the words “skank” and “whore” doesn’t make this a feminist issue. It means people are flaming a public figure who has been photographed without underwear, posing for weird knife pictures, and publicly making out with brand new boyfriends. If my 15 year old daughter did that, God forbid, yes everyone at her school would be calling her those very names. I wish there was an equally offensive word for such a male, but calling them idiots or whatever serves the same purpose.

As for the slut part, the double standard has existed throughout history- its not like its anything new. And if I were a hot girl like her I’m sure I’d be banging all the hot young girls or guys I could as well.
No, but the fact that negative gossip about Hollywood women is more talked about by orders of magnitude, is. I know all about the stories of Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton, etc., but I can’t think of a single male celebrity mentioned in this thread–except for Robert Downey, Jr., but we’ll get to that later–who I had heard a bad word about before reading it here.
As for Mr. Downey, the coverage/gossip about him is way different than that about Lohan. Granted, he has his shit together and she doesn’t. But whenever anyone’s made a snide remark about Downey that I’ve heard–and again, I admit that I know little about the world of Hollywood gossip–it has the air of a harmless joke rather than a bitter slam. Again, Downey has earned that by dealing with his problems admirably, but there must have been a time when his life was as out of control as Lohan’s and I can’t remember anyone talking about him like that.
And if you had a 15 year old son who made out with new girlfriends in front of everyone, what would he be called?
As for being photographed without underwear, thousands of people do that every day. They let someone they trust take an intimate picture of them, with the understanding/hope that it won’t go out on the Internet for everyone to see. Mostly it doesn’t, because it’s just not interesting in today’s society unless the subject has some kind of status. As for Ms. Lohan, she sure didn’t look like she trusted whoever was taking those pictures. So if your 15 year old daughter were topless in her own bedroom and someone went up to the window and started snapping pictures secretly, then distributed it around the school, you would think it’s OK for everyone to snicker at the pics and call her a skank? Is it your argument that she would have “earned” that reputation by being half-naked in her own home?
No, Fetus, I’m thinking of the pictures of Lohan in public without a bra, or without undies. Not in her own bedroom, but in public showing her intimate parts for the world to see. And yes, I personally think promiscuity is bad equally for men and women. And I guess I do agree with you that society does have a double standard. I just think that in this specific particular case, Lohan has been so far over the limits of reasonable judgment that I am not surprised when people call her bad names.
