Heh I just found the Maru channel.
Probably just bubonic plague.
In the past week or so, Littlest Miss has made a couple of really neat breakthroughs: She has started to laugh out loud, and she can entertain herself for a short period of time (usually studying her hands and feet.) It’s nice for her to wake up quietly, instead of crying to get someone’s attention immediately, and that laugh is just awesomely adorable!
Also, I have a bird’s nest on my carport. A couple of weeks ago, I had a cabinet removed from the kitchen to make room for the new dishwasher (which also makes me smile!) I plan to install the cabinet in the laundry room, but while I was trying to find the time for that, a pair of Carolina wrens started their own little building project. The nest is sort of covered (more tunnel-shaped than nest-shaped,) but I think that the babies have arrived. The female bird mostly stays in the nest, unless someone gets too close for her comfort, but the male stays busy all day, bringing food. Very cool to watch!
I saw a young bunny rabbit and my first firefly of the year right at the same time while walking the other evening.
This made me smile: Brave baby gorilla
Also, the bad-ass crawdad in the parking lot at work that saw me walking towards it and reared up on its hind legs with its claws in the air like it was about to summon a lightning bolt to smite me was pretty amusing. I stopped smiling when it started chasing me, though.
Saw fellow get on bus–long hair, long beard, all dressed in leather and chains, tats all over arms–serious bad ass expression on his face. Had little curly haired blond girl, about 2 or so, with him. She was dressed in pink dress, black shoes, white knee socks.
He sat down, put little girl in his lap. She grabbed onto his beard and looked up at him and smiled–and he melted like butter on a burner. Gave her the biggest smile I’ve seen in a long time. We know who’s daddy’s girl…
Out for a walk today with Baby From Mars, and we came across a street called ‘Bionic Ear Lane’. I assume it has a medical rationale (it’s near lots of clinics etc), but what a cool address that would be!
