I’m checking now but their mare page is taking forever to load, with all the photos in it!
Okay, it’s stabilized now. Here’s what they have to say about her (and yes, she is stunning in the photos on that page):
China is the offspring of our broodmare Rowdy Lass, a Rowdy and Top Banana descendent. China was born to Rowdy Lass in the spring of 2001. We bought Rowdy Lass in foal to Sid’s Terminator from Aloha Acres in Florida in 2000. China’s sire is Sid’s Terminator, a double bred both Roan Ranger and Boones Little Apache son. China was born the most beautiful iridescent coffee color with bright blue eyes. Her eyes changed over the next six months until they were amber. She is truly a “horse of a different color”, with the most unusual iridescent hue. Visitors here will often stop and stare at China as they have never seen that color horse before. She stands out no matter what horses are around her as something very unusual. Her dam is homozygous for black, and both China and Rowdy Lass carry the cream (dilute) gene. She remains a sparkling iridescent color in the daylight which is a challenge to photograph. This is a correct, balanced mare that is passing on her traits to her foals. She is a calm and easy going mare that adores being a broodmare, and caring for her foals. She passes on her confidence and stability to her foals.
Damn, that page is a bitch to load! Here, I’ve grabbed two of her pictures and put them on Webshots:
China 1
China 3
I know! Coiuldn’t they let him be a free baby for at least a few days?
Although, given how big and strong he is, maybe they’re going to need a control device from the git-go.
I can’t believe i missed another one! This just isn’t fair. And you’re right ETF - I better not miss Nakota’s foaling! I’ve been reading a cool thread on the COTH forum’s about testing the Ph and calcium levels of the milk. Apparently, once the Ph drops suddenly they’ll foal within 24 hours.
StG
Poor StGermain! Missed it again!
Damn! Barry was just about to nurse and Frizzy Haired Guy had to go and move right then so Barry stopped. Grrrrr.
Barry’s fascinated by the kid.
Can someone post links again, just to have them current. For China, Mandy, Vir, and Nakota?

Nakota is StG ’s mare, not yet bred.
I wonder if he imprinted on him as Frizzy Haired Guy spent so much time toweling him off. Poor Barry is obviously hungry (as he tried to nurse on FHG’s fingers) but is as clueless as Squirmy!
Latch on!!!
ETA: Well, he unlatched, but I’m sure he got it that time.
Yay!! Barry’s nursing!
ETA: ETF , we have to stop meeting like this!
I hate to think how much time I’ve wasted again this evening watching baby horsies.
Oh, yeh, he’s got the nursing idea now.
The after birth is taking a long time to come out. Well actually I have no idea how long it should take but it seems to be taking longer than the others.
I was just thinking that. It’s been almost two hours now. I can’t remember how long it took for Vi to expel hers.
I like how gentle and quiet that kid is with Barry.
Oh man, so cute. Mandy laid down and Barry laid down (read: crashed) beside her.
Mandy’s got her halter off.
And now they’re both down again.
Kid was stroking Mandy’s face. He got up and Barry got up.
Now the kid’s taken Barry’s halter off.
I don’t think that’s a kid. That’s the “midhusband”. Barry sure does like him, I think more than he likes Mandy at times.
For first timers, I’m very impressed with how they’ve done. They’re lucky they were dealing with such a calm horse too.
