Yesterday I went over to the barn where Nakota is going to be bred. I wanted to see the set up and talk to the people. The woman was very nice, showed me their stalls. I asked her for Nakota to be on turnout instead of stalled, because she gets antsy in stalls. She said that would be no problem. They also do foalings, so I might send Nakota there to foal, too. I’d feel better for her to be in the hands of professionals.

A pro operation like this would have had ultrasounds done that showed that, and the vet would have pinched off one of the embryos.

Have you told us which stallion you’ve chosen?
Interesting: Unlike all the other foalings we’ve seen so far, I don’t see any afterbirth hanging out of Sarenia. Maybe that’s why she was down so long? She was expelling the placenta completely before she got up?
ETA: I bet Stella’s back down, out of sight at the bottom of the stall. Looks as if Sarenia’s a much calmer mom than Virona was.
