Live Foaling Cam

LOL! Large lady was having a nice time, chatting with Mandy and giving her a nice rub and suddenly Barry totally attacked his mom’s head, reared right up like a bucking bronco. Mandy’s head got shoved over into large lady, almost knocking her down.

Oh man, I hope somebody else is watching this too. She was scratching Barry on his chest and he was lifting his head up really high and opening his lips to show all his teeth. He looked hilarious and she was laughing at him but then he tried to go all bucking bronco on her and she had to keep wagging her finger at him and say “no!”. Then she’d go back to talking with Mandy and suddenly this wild hellion would try to run her over and she’d have to shove him away and I could see her saying “no!” “no!”.

It was so funny to watch, better than tv.

Was she wearing flipflops again?

That teeth-baring reaction of Barry sounds like the grooming reflex kicking in – scratch a horse in an itchy place and they’ll have a mad desire to groom you back.

ETA: Finally got a good look at Stella’s legs despite the cam being horrible this morning. She’s got a bit of angulation in the front legs but they’re way better than Squirmy’s were.

Awwwwwwww… Stella’s boinking merrily about. Mandy’s got her face right up in the camera. Nothing’s happening at Pacific Pintos other than one of the four stalls being cleaned.

Oh, and China just pooped.

Low alert at China’s place. The alert is for Lady.

Wahddaya wanna bet Lady and China go at the same time?

ETA: Mandycam’s still down.

Centaurcam’s still crappy.

I just now was able to see Stella’s legs better. You’re right, they do have a bit of angulation on them. I wonder why their foals have that? Some sort of off genetic flaw?

Barry is eating his mom’s poo…

You do have to wonder, since both foals are by their stallion Don De Marco.

ETA: If there’s any undigested grain in Mandy’s poop, Barry could be eating that.

ETA2: Barry’s chowing down on mom again.

That looks like an awfully small stall, especially for foaling, doesn’t it?

It does look a little small. Everything I’ve read says a foaling stall should be at least 12X24.

StG

I found Silver Creek Farms, where they have a good quality cam. I think this cam is on LaDeDa, who is not due until April 13 (I think).

I get really frustrated with the low quality cams and little, cramped stalls.

Thanks for the new addiction. The mare’s flat on her side, asleep, right now. Oh, she twitched and started to get up, then lay back flat and off to dreamland again.

Now she’s up recumbent on her chest licking and chewing. Looked at her belly, stretched her head out again to sleep. I thought I saw her flanks moving; maybe the foal’s doing a dance in there and waking up mom?

I’ve tried clicking into other links at Mare Stare but each time the picture won’t load unless I download some software and I’m not about to do that.

ETA: Barry’s asleep flat on his side with Mandy standing guard over him.

ETA2: Pearl just lay down but looks like she’s going to sleep too.

Okay, Here’s the link for Sonesta Farms – crappy camera but big stall, tail-wrapped mare, and from the Twitter comments below she’s close to popping:

Sonesta just posted this:

Moon’s about to pop!

Yes! Foreleg out!

ETA: Womans’ in with her, pulled a bit. Stood up, observed, now pulling again - mare looks back at her, woman pats mare’s butt soothingly, mare goes back to work

And out! Woman looks up at cam, claps, leaves stall. Baby’s head is up.

ETA: Damn, it’s kinda lonely seeing it without the rest of you guys.

ETA2: Woman’s back in with towels. Put under baby and out again.

Moon had her foal moments ago. I of course missed it.

Ha! This one’s got a huge star! Hard to tell, the cam quality is so bad, but it might run down into a blaze.

ETA: Call this baby Blaze Starr? But we don’t know if it’s a filly.

ETA2: It’s definitely a big blaze.

Mom’s up and the afterbirth is out.
