The horse on the other side of Tiya sure is agitated.
That’s another mare, with a foal.
ETA! There! Did you see the white bulge under her tail just then?
ETA2 – Ah there’s a person outside her stall now
Too bad Tiya’s camera is so fogged.
Someone needs to clean that camera!
I think at least part of it is the glare from sunlight into the camera.
Awww. You can see the baby from the next stall peeping over!
Well, crap, now she’s nibbling hay. But I DID see her agitated, kicking and dancing behind, and a white bulge repeatedly go out and back in under her tail – I did, truly!
Suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuure you did.
I have to leave for home soon anyway - maybe she’ll hold out until I get there.
ETA: Considering the agitation of the mom on the other side of the wall, I have no doubt that you did!
I wish they’d take that mare in the adjoining stall out somewhere else so she can settle down.
She’s a maiden mare; do they take longer? I know human moms tend to deliver faster when they’re multipara.
There’s a woman in with Tiya now, who brought with her three very excited children (running around outside the stall).
And now they’ve departed.
Interesting – the other mare has settled down now, Tiya is calmer, and the man watching her seems to have departed, unless he’s now sitting outside of camera range.
So, maybe she had a bout of contractions, and now they’ve subsided? For darn sure it was a two-stall rodeo for a while there.
ETA: Woman’s just picked stall and is rewrapping Tiya’s tail.
Well, I guess I didn’t miss anything!
Oho! There’s a woman in Magic’s stall right now, spreading straw bedding. Tweet from two hours ago: “Both Magic & Rosie are dripping milk now!”
Magic is nibbling her bedding experimentally.
Drat. The cam feed for Magic keeps breaking up; Rosie’s is fine, but of course she’s not showing any signs of letting fly any time soon – although they do have her bedded on straw now too.
Meanwhile, over at Pacific Pintos, Blossom has tipped her feed tub up on edge and is rubbing her butt on it, her hind feet practically inside. RTA: Damn, she’s really getting into it.
I keep thinking that Tiya is going any time. And then she stops. I finally get the cameras going, and nothing happens. Give me babies!!!
StG
No kidding. Was I crazy, or could she really have been having contractions that actually started the foal a few inches out, and then they stopped and everything went back inside? Because I was sure, damn sure I was seeing something white slide out under her raised tail briefly, several times, when she was so agitated and the mare next to her was freaking out.
ETF - I think part of it is that her dock isn’t wrapped, so you see the bit of tail and think it’s feet. I defragged my hard drive and updated my internet connection and things seem to be going faster. I’m able to see all the cams tonight. But now it’s bed time and no foals.
grrr argghhh.
StG
Well, right now she’s agitated enough to be doing a lot of stall walking and hiking her tail up and out. The mare in the adjoining stall is getting worked up too.
Then they both chill for a while. Then it starts up again.
My gut says she goes tonight. But then, what do I know?
Tiya’s lying down; was sternal for a while with her tail flipped over her croup, then flat on her side.
Back up sternal.
ETA! Foaling! Foot sticking out!
And out!
Poor girl, that was a hard one, even with the human pulling. Looks like a good-sized foal.
Foal lifted its head within a few seconds of having the sac pulled off its head and upper body.
